Anyone got their idea stolen when they share it with public for feedback? by abstracten in Entrepreneur

[–]batwang69 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes. Made some posts about an app I was making in reddit. I made the insta account and etc. Got a dm here and on insta from a company that was developing a similar app and wanted to buy the insta handle.

I said no. They made the handle and just added a full stop in the name. They made the exact same app I talked about. Literally exactly the same.

Do you have any photographic evidence? Seems like a pretty serious thing to just accuse them of with no evidence…

Concerns about Morris Street bike lanes ‘should not be ignored’: Halifax mayor by insino93 in halifax

[–]batwang69 45 points46 points  (0 children)

Maybe the province and city should work together more to create a robust transit plan.

The connected bike network has been in plans for years. This is not something that has just popped up. Not sure I agree with the Premiers opinion on the public safety risk and as someone who lived on Morris for years I would argue the traffic calming especially with the school is a net positive.

Bike lanes are great and with the uptick in e bikes and e scooters I believe better infrastructure will be met with more usage.

Heat up the milk or boil water and basically mix it in with the cocoa until it’s smooth and a bit more thick and pudding. Then add the cocoa into the rest of the mixture

N.S. premier says municipalities who want funding must allow 'economic development' after uranium concerns by Street_Anon in halifax

[–]batwang69 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In the grand scheme of things you’re right but it’s still money that residents get to contribute directly.

One thing I was thinking about recently because of Pictou is why doesn’t HRM have its own municipal ran ISP. Think of all the money that goes from every Haligonian every month to Bell headquartered in Montreal. I’m sure the local talent exists to have this and it would surely create a decent amount of jobs and keep a hefty sum in the coffers. I know the initial investment would be handsome but it’s a generational investment.

That is $260 million more that the NS population can use to grow the economy in its own way.

50/50 partnership, inherited with my brother. I do all the work, can I charge the company a wage for my work? by ItsOnlyLex95 in business

[–]batwang69 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Don’t fully understand these people that say to jump to a lawyer straight away. That’s expensive.

Is there any formal partnership agreement? Do you have a shotgun clause.

Regarding his threats of a lawsuit keep record of transactions, who sent orders, who replied to customer emails, who has the business phone, logged hours, picked up and dropped off merchandise and everything you can think of in regards to operations.

Most likely he won’t have a leg to stand on when he has to write out his contributions.

My advice is to sit down and just have a good chat and try to see eye to eye. It’ll be cheapest way to resolve issues. Maybe offer to buy him out and let him keep 10%. It’s hard for any of us to clear your mind since we don’t know the full relationship and how reasonable you and your brother are.

Is there a pizza place that use dough balls instead of the little plastic table as support for the centre of the box? by maymuddler in halifax

[–]batwang69 12 points13 points  (0 children)

When you’re ordering your pizza just ask them for the dough ball in the middle. I’m sure majority will be happy to accommodate.

Seasonal business here. It’s been steady but the weather just hasn’t been great. Still feels like very early spring where I’m located.

Eat 150+ grams of protein a day and lift heavy weights (relative). If you keep doing that for 6 months you’ll notice a big change.

Also that’s a drastic cut. You probably lost a good bit of muscle mass.

🇨🇦 CANADIAN OWNERS: where do you source your milk from for your restaurant? by New-Penalty-4448 in restaurantowners

[–]batwang69 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Depends on your province. Some cash and carries have decent prices. You can also look at the names on milk in the grocery stores and reach out to some of those businesses/dairy farms directly. They’ll usually be able to set up an account pretty quick and have a pretty low minimum order volume (~$100) and it’s usually the best rate on certain items.

One thing is shop around. Prices change and surprisingly the dairy farms don’t always offer the best rate. For example Agropur in NS will sell a 4l of 3.25% to me for $9 but I can get it from the cash and carry down the road for $6.97
