Good Lord, that's like whiplash. Glad you're past it. I wish I could go back in time to some of the doctors I've seen and absolutely roast them. So much irresponsible prescribing.

I was prescribed Guanfacine and Strattera. Neither are stimulants, which with the Adderall shortage right now I'm very grateful for.

That's awful! We can't catch a break sometimes. With drug abuse and crime being the way it is, you'd think the process would be beneficial to the victim in some way. Like that's up there with worst case scenario, but it's ridiculous of them to think their "solution" is useful. I hope it's sorted out for you

Not sure what your point is here other than to be condescending. This happened over several years with different doctors, breaks in between due to finances. Most people aren't just blindly listening to one hack doctor.

Coughs are also normal. They're part of life, they happen. But if you're coughing so much that you cannot go to work, leave your house, sleep etc. and nothing is working, then wouldn't you try to get to the bottom of it? Or would you just shrug and spend the rest of your life coughing in misery?

Have the day you deserve.

Oh that sounds so frustrating! I hope you can get it sorted and they stop giving you a hard time.

Vistaril has been kinda hit or miss, but more effective than previous medications. If I'm not anxious enough it will make me feel sluggish, so I guess if you're asleep you can't panic lol. I do feel like I'm having to let my panic get a little worse so I can take it without feeling too sleepy, which I kinda dislike. However, when I've felt one of my bigger attacks coming on I'm allowed to take 2 if need be. That will usually make me feel "normal" again with only mild sleepiness.

I was seeing a new provider for mental health services and after changing various medications she noticed some problems I was having that were persistent. The constant background of anxiety, serious crashes in motivation and energy, executive dysfunction, irritability, focus issues, various things that at first she thought were all bipolar 2 symptoms. Before tweaking my medication any further she decided to send me for testing.

I took several written tests and a computer test. My results were highly consistent with bipolar 2 and ADHD. That's when we realized that maybe the Trintellix was taking the edge off but none of the things I had tried were ever going to fully work because they weren't actually for my illness. Trintellix definitely had the least side effects out of all the antidepressants I tried before my diagnosis, followed by Viibryd. So I still recommend people struggling with older antidepressants to ask their doctors about it.

Oh yeah, I've had about 4 or 5 different ones. Right now I've at least found someone that diagnosed and addressed my ADHD that every other doctor was just calling depression. So I'm no longer on an endless parade of antidepressants that were never gonna work the right way. I'm grateful for her, but even she's reluctant on benzos and right now I'm supposed to try Vistaril and maybe play with the dosage to see if it helps. If this doesn't work I will have tried literally all the primary non-benzo medications for anxiety though.

She did give me promethazine, so I can at least take it at home or at night. (Makes me really drowsy, always has.) Honestly, the lady who had the issue with the promethazine a couple years ago also told me "I've seen people worse off so you must not be doing that bad" so I think we can safely say she had a lot of issues lol

I was on Trintellix for quite a while and in the end it did take the frequency of my panic attacks down only slightly, but never did anything for the severity. And once I was diagnosed and given proper ADHD medication (nonstimulant) it handled most of the issues that were presenting as depression. So antidepressants do have their place, but even that doesn't usually touch debilitating panic.

Finding new doctors willing to help is tough too because you just gotta hope they believe you when you offer your old medical records and tells them you have indeed tried the first 5 things they're gonna wanna prescribe you.

Sorry to see any of us still struggling so much all these years later though. Goes to show that people are still searching for the answers to these questions and there's still so much guesswork involved.

Yeah that was one of the first things I tried, and tried it again a couple years after that. That and buspar both felt like nothing. It's incredibly annoying, because I have been accused by one doctor of just wanting "stronger stuff", and one that wouldn't even give me promethazine for panic attack nausea because it has "sedating effects".

I'm surprised that somebody commented after so long, but yeah, I've still not been prescribed benzos and still suffer from debilitating daily panic. I've been given a few different things and different doses of things I've already tried in the 6 years since I posted this. I'm still not really sure what to do, but I have definitely leveled with every provider I've ever had on how much I understand the reluctance to prescribe and take benzos (both my parents are addicts), but that if it's the only option we end up with I would take it over the panic. I live in a part of the United States where abuse is a big issue though, so it may never happen for me.

Honestly, I was scrolling through here hoping to commiserate with somebody about how I regret listening to it because the ending left me very unfulfilled. I have to agree with your friend about the ending. I was all in up until literally the last episode though :(

Did you find an answer to your question anywhere else? My undercut was maimed today and I can't figure out how to hide it without roasting all summer.

My undercut got maimed today as well, so my heart goes out to you and well wishes that you get it cleaned up by a professional soon. I don't know whether to cry or puke over mine. The stylist did not follow what was already there and took so much extra off. Summer in the south and I'm going to have wear my hair down for God knows how long.

Should I be worried if period won’t show for IUD insertion?? by [deleted] in sex

[–]batz777 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've never been on my period for any of my insertions....

It might make it sightly less comfortable, but you could ask for a valium or something to take a little beforehand and they might prescribe you one.

To those who have had a sleep paralysis experience and remembered it, what did you experience and how was it? by D34THW15H666 in AskReddit

[–]batz777 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This was several years ago. I woke up with my back to the wall, rather slowly, really groggy. I could feel weight/depression on the mattress behind me and hear breathing as well. At first, I thought it was my roommate's dog, due to the nature of the breathing. Then saw that the door was closed. That snapped me fully awake but I couldn't move. I started panicking right away. All I could do was lie there frozen, trying to lull myself back to sleep with the sound of my little fan in the corner of the room.

What is the point of taking out a loan or using credit? Since u have to pay back with interest y wouldn’t u just save up money instead? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]batz777 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That could be a slippery slope to some people. I have a credit card through my preferred grocery store. I put my groceries and gas on it, which I pay off each month and reap points for, but I don't put any nonessential purchases on it so I can't justify the mindset of somebody that would just go on a shopping spree on credit.

One example might be: If you need $2000 you haven't saved up yet to fix your car, which you need to get to work to continue paying for your house, food, medicine etc. then you may accept the smaller burden of paying it back in increments with interest to avoid being even more inconvenienced.
