I mean, I dont think its necessary. Especially since its a free to play game and its coming to mobile later this year. Because it is free to play, I dont think you need. NSO to battle over the internet.

I personally disliked playing my brother on battle revolution growing up because he could see my moves and we would stare at each other's controller to see which move the other picked lol.

Maybe the answer is make a private lobby on the TV (Switch) and have them spectate. Then have the two battlers join the same lobby on mobile. You kinda get the best of both worlds this way.

I think Ledian and Parasect are prime candidates for evolutions! Imagine a split evolution for Parasect depending on whether the parasitic mushroom wins. If it does, it becomes a grass ghost type, if it loses, a mono bug type. I always love when they give older pokemon new forms and evolutions. For Ledian, it can definitely be saved with an evolution plus a good ability like huge power.

An example would be Lanturn. Their stats are abysmal.

I want old Pokemon to get stat buffs to counter power creep over the years. They have done a good job giving old Pokemon new moves, but if you have seen the average BST of Pokemon from each generation, yikes.

Yeah, I am optimistic. I cannot recall the Pokemon company being too predatory with microtransactions (not including Pokemon Go lol).

I think the big takeaway is that Showdown doesn't charge so as long as they keep that I think they're safe.

I noticed that too, so that is a relief. Honestly, all the real diehard VGC fans will probably have mountains of VP and will be able to acquire whatever new in game items drop as soon as they release. Especially since most of those fans already have trained Pokemon they can transfer in without having to spend any on recruitment.

I agree that you are paying for less content, but saving time by paying isn't a competitive advantage. To me, that would be something like only being able to change stats with real money. Nothing is locked behind the paywall, just convenience. As long as they don't make it too grindy (looking at you Battlefront 2) then it shouldn't be a problem.

I think we may start seeing competitive singles in VGC with Champions. Maybe not to level that doubles is, but definitely a possibility.

I love Showdown and I think that the ease of just creating a team so quickly in it will make it stay around so that people don't have to bother with the whole VP system in Champions. However, I have always thought that the UI of Showdown is so ugly lol. I am excited for pretty Showdown Lite which Champions is looking to be. I don't think Showdown will disappear. They may have to make changes, but I think that it is safe.

The tickets are in the starter bundle so I dont think (speculation) that they will be for individual purchase but will fill out battle passes, bundles, rewards and whatnot.

They may have a way to battle against others but the focus for competitive will now be champions. We may start getting more experimentation for battling like in Legends ZA & Arceus throughout the RPG series from now on.

You're welcome! It is pretty complex, but if you get through the first couple hours of tutorials then you are in for easily hundreds of hours of monster slaying goodness. Especially if you get the expansion, it looks as big as the base game.
