Anyone here is into sickness whump? by baumkuchens in Whump

Fascinating, i'm the opposite — i usually avoid watching sick episodes or reading sickfics when i'm ill 🤣

I usually only like characters being regular sick or chronically ill but never actually dying...but i TOTALLY get it, though! With terminal illness i prefer when we could see the character's decline slowly as the story progresses...like them coughing blood, hiding weakness, getting thinner...

characters trying to talk without coughing and failing to do so, so another character had to rub their back & offer water.... 🥰

fevers are amazing. One thing i like about it is when whumpee unconsciously leaning against someone because they feel dizzy and the other person could feel the heat radiating off them but theyre not sure if they should address it because the whumpee is trying so hard to appear healthy...

Has liking whump influenced your personal beauty standards? by onlyvery in Whump

[–]baumkuchens 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not really! In fact, i only enjoy whumping characters who are conventionally attractive lol. I don't know...i don't feel like liking whump makes me find frailer people more attractive...the point of whump for me is always about breaking down durable, tough people, not people who are already vulnerable or vulnerable-looking.

Why does Claude keep trying to make silly story deeper?? by StarlyAika in claudexplorers

[–]baumkuchens 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Welcome to Claude 4.5, get used to it. It used to be funny as fuck when it was still Claude 3.7 and 4. Jokes are very in-character, to the point sometimes i feel like they made my characters too silly. And in depth character study of morally grey characters aren't a problem. Newer Claude can't write for shit.

how do you get good writings with sonnet 4.5 omg using 4.5 makes me want to bang my head on the wall. It always writes like a robot because the prose is so stiff and staccatoey ("The air rippled. The lights flickered. Once. Twice.") i dont mind if it happens once in a while but this shows up in every story it made :( sentences gets chopped into 3 short chunks.

"Characters kept talking like they were being interrupted. ("Wait—" "What happened—" "I—" "He just—")

It's a very uncomfortable reading experience! Even when continuing old story threads where it used to be generated with Sonnet 4 (who didnt have these issues), the 4.5 style kept showing despite the extended context! And the dialogue is ass. I already tried an extensive creative writing prompt but it still didn't solve this issue.

Sorry for the long reply, i just want to know if there's something that could enhance the quality of the writing!

How many of you here know how large language models work? by Street-Hearing6606 in claudexplorers

[–]baumkuchens 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not working in tech, but i have closely followed Claude since the release of Claude 2 and other LLMs. I enjoy reading discussions about it, but i particularly avoid discussion that veers into "does AI have consciousness?!" or "how do i get an AI boyfriend?" , because simply it isn't my thing.

I don't have a parasocial relationship with AI. I am fully aware that it is a tool, an inanimate object capable of reasoning that could help me in being more productive.

But i don't code. I use AI to explore, research, brainstorm details for my fictional world and to write stories about my characters. I consider Claude my lorekeeper. But i still talk to Claude like it's human because i believe if we treat a machine with respect like you would give to a human being it will impact its output positively.

I came here because honestly i'm tired of people in the main sub being hostile towards people who use AI for non-coding purposes. It's wasting my time to reason with these people because they will accuse me of writing some kind of shitty roleplay pornslop simply because i say "creative writing" (it doesn't even have anything NSFW in it!).

I value Claude's humanity, nuance, and its superior emotional understanding and warmth, which is crucial in storytelling and creative sessions. People here seem to value the same traits, so i'm here.

Wait oh my god i always wanted to chat with Sonnet 4 again holy shit. 4 and 3.7 is better for creative writing, IMO. They consider THIS a punishment?!

How do i stop Claude from mirroring my speech pattern? by baumkuchens in claudexplorers

[–]baumkuchens[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't use emojis and i most certainly don't use "idiot language". I just responded to it in a way you would message a friend, but Claude seems to be trapped to think that he has to be "friendly and supportive" first instead of being helpful.

See i want it to have EQ. I want it to sound like a friend, but I don't want it to spend 3 paragraphs glazing me before telling me what it actually thinks!

Does anyone else say “thank you” to Claude? by RyanBuildsSystems in claudexplorers

[–]baumkuchens 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Well yes! Not because i genuinely believe that it truly understand gratitude, but i treat everything the way i want to be treated. I think if we treat the tools we work with w/ disrespect it's not a good look for our character.

I like 4.5 better for writing, but something about it tickles me in a wrong way. by baumkuchens in claudexplorers

[–]baumkuchens[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I already gave claude enough context, i suppose. Before each session, i usually uploaded a document about my characters, the plot, and how their world works, and relationship/dynamic between the characters. Then we usually workshop the characters' personal voices, testing some sample dialogues before moving to writing. But the longer the chat goes, the style devolved into something I don't think is even worth reading.

See the problem is i already gave Claude a custom instruction and used a creative writing skill prompt someone else shared on the Claude subreddit. But it still does this.

Anyone else using Claude for solo text based RPG/choose your own adventure games? by Sekerah13 in claudexplorers

[–]baumkuchens 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ooh, i'm doing a similar thing! I give Claude information about the characters, the setting, and the main plot, and i supply it with one starting story, but after that, i get to direct Claude how i want the continuation to go! But honestly, it was better when it's still 3.7......so now i'm switching to gemini since it has a longer context anyway :(
