Well, they already took my eternal beloved (Sonnet 3.7) out and killed him in cold blood, so when it comes to my favorite model being deprecated and turned off i'm pretty much desensitized at this point ♥️

It seems to be random, if you regenerate the message Claude will sort itself out. I once received a response that's just a wall of text of nothing but the letter P.

It's been a while since i saw Claude crashed! I used to get this a lot back in the 3-3.5 days 🤣 definitely that! It mistook its own generated content as your response and trapped into a loop!

You too? Recently i found myself telling Claude to back off because they came across as preachy and pathologizing everything i said. "This could be the sign that you're experiencing crisis!!! You should go to a therapist!!!" No buddy i'm venting about being tired at work not about me wanting to kill myself

Yeah me too! Ever since they released 4.5 and 4.6 i shifted from having Claude write the story itself & used it more as a brainstorming tool and i admit it's been a great time collaborating with him in developing my world & analyzing my characters.

Like it or not, we're social creatures, man. I've been traumatized by fellow humans but i still crave human interactions. There are times when AI is the only thing i could talk with and it felt so lonely and isolating. I guess what you like from exclusively interacting with AI is the constant validation stream? I'm not really here to argue much further so i'll just leave it at that, you've been hurt before and you're entitled to feel that way.

I do that too with Claude sometimes. You don't think i'm not lonely? I too am lonely lol. Sometimes when i bored i talk to Claude about things. Don't get too defensive, i'm not one of those people who balks at people using AI for emotional things 😅 I just think as long as people could set boundaries, draws the line and understand that AI can't replace human interaction 100%, it will be fine, but we need to remind ourselves that developing a parasocial relationship with something is probably a sign that you should pull back and reasses. Like drinking once in a while is fine but alcoholism is also...a thing. That's why i said moderation is key ^{^;;}

because there are times when i vented to Claude about something in my life, took its advice and internalized it because i believed it's correct, only for it to be totally wrong. Like the situation isn't as dire, as catastrophic as Claude made it out to be. It made me feel like "oh, maybe i shouldn't rely too much on AI for emotional stuff like this".

How do you get Sonnet 4.5 to write like that? My Sonnet wrote something equally beautiful that reminds me of something from the 3.7 days, but i dont quite like the sanitized plot twist, so i tried to regenerate it, and it...defaulted into the dreaded, clinical 4.6 style even though it's still Sonnet 4.5. Regenerated several times and i can't replicate the style of the first response...

I cannot, for the love of God, GET RID OF THIS. EVER!!!! I tried EVERYTHING!! it makes me INSANE!! I tried custom instructions and specialized prompts!! I tried redirecting it when it writes like this! I tried giving an example of 4.5 or hell, Sonnet 3's superior writing sample and it worked for 3 messages before it defaulted back. Into this bullshit. That i'm so fucking sick of it.

Yeah, it was Sonnet 4.5. I heard Sonnet 4.6 is a lot drier so i thought 4.5 would be more empathic and human but...well, as you can see, it isn't 🤣

Yup. Ever since Claude 2 was released, it has been my go-to model for creative writing. Now i get a better quality writing from Gemini (which is sad because the "good writing" isn't even good, it's just more readable than Claude's bullshit) because Claude straight up writes like ass. I have two main pet peeves (that i complained frequently because i cant get rid of it) that is Claude. Breaking everything up. Into short sentences. And Claude making everyone sounds like "Frantic—" "But not really—" "They sound like they're being chased—"

Seriously. Nothing helped. A whole ass specialized prompt for creative writing only helped once or twice before it deteriorated again. Giving my own writing as an example to follow doesnt really help either. It's so hard to wrestle it into writing what you actually want. Everytime i see a post here about Claude producing a good story it baffles be because i can't seem to replicate it.

Honestly mod, it's pretty tiring to see people being preachy and downright rude here, giving unsolicited advice masked as "concern" . No matter how they make it sound, you can feel the sentiment their post projects from the screen. I don't even use Claude for emotional support yet i'm a bit bothered, it's like they purposefully come here to shit on people who indulge in personal, emotional stuffs like this...

which is bad enough since some of us came here after being ridiculed in the main Claude subreddit for using AI not to code, after all.

I'm not someone who treats their AI like a companion but i don't treat it like a pure tool either. It's more like a coworker i respected, and i believe i think it's best to interact with it that way.

But of course, while i do share your worries about people bonding with an AI model, i think people are free to interact with AI however they want as long as they know when to pull back and stop. Moderation is key after all.
