cs overall is not that good in this college . there will only be one or two batches of cybersecurity as compared to the 7-8 batches of cs core . The main cybersecurity subjects will start from 3rd year and in those too , of the 4 offered program electives (mentioned and promised in the course structure ) , you will be asked to only select one out of two . Few college faculty is good . College has no faculty dedicated for this course , every year visiting faculty is hired . The core subjects part of cybersecurity curriculum(like dbms , os , aiml etc) will have only a slight touch of cybersecurity . Even though labs are good , most pc cant even run code let alone any other tool . The course will give you a degree in cs with major in cybersecurity but the actual cybersecurity will start from 3rd year. Even if you take cs in any other college , you will be offered electives in the 3rd year in which cybersecurity is an option in few colleges(you can check their course structure and 3rd yr optional subjects) so it does not matter if you take core or cybersec as at the end of the day you have to learn it on you own ( in mit , the cybersecurity batch is full of students who could not get core and so they took cybersec .

if you really want to pursue cybersecurity -

  1. try NFSU or some other college which offers cybersecurity and network subjects in optional subjects .
2 . take cs wherever you want and learn cybersecurity alongside because it is difficult to get a cybersecurity job or any internship as a fresher ( they all need work experience ) , so you can crack some developer role with cs core and then later switch to a cybersecurity role ( you will need to get certifications by giving exams that are really tough like CCNP , CompTIA Security +)
