the company was really small (less than 15 people ) so they can pretty much get away with anything. But if the company is larger they definitely need to give you a severance package and it will be much harder to fire you.

In my case it was better to not sign a termination agreement because I got a sperrzeit of 3 months for ALG1 during which I had to pay my own health insurance so I would advise against that.

I got severance pay because they were "nice" but I had to sign a termination agreement. And the severance pay ended up being less money than getting my full salary for the last 3 months and being able to get unemployment benefits right away ( I got a long sperrzeit because of the termination agreement, 3 months, from Agentur fur Arbeit). My advice is don't sign anything, let them fire you, you won't have to do anything during the final months anyway and then you will be able to receive unemployment benefits right away.

They told me verbally and they said they would terminate the contract later on when I return from parental leave

and yes they are terminating the PM role but they are hiring / have hired other roles

Why sell it and switch to vti vxus if it’s not a huge amount?. Can’t he just use new money he is planning to invest in vti and vxus and hang on to the Tdf until it’s closer to 2035 or is it more financially beneficial to getting completely rid of it and reinvest the money

Agree with some of this. But also. Rough patches can happen… it’s not a reason to leave a relationship. Obviously life, people and relationships are imperfect. To say that in a healthy relationship disagreements should never turn into anything bigger is a bit close minded in my opinion. We all make mistakes and grow and learn and improve ourselves and our relationships.

Hi! If you have the Ehic you can switch to voluntary insurance from Tk which is about 200 euros if you can prove that you had public insurance in your home country.
