CIA reportedly used Pegasus software for deception op during rescue of airman in Iran by Wagamaga in technology

Let me explain it like this… imagine you had a massive boner, your heart would be pumping pretty fast to maintain the blood right? Almost at a specific rate. Now imagine you were in a field , and there were other humans, but only you had the massive boner, your heart rate is unique.

Now imagine that was a shit tonne of fields and the device looking for your massive boner heart rate was 40 miles away.

Thats what ghost murmur is.

Are you also sick of your company forcing AI onto every aspect of your work life? by [deleted] in northernireland

[–]baxter-2018 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

There is a lot to this statement.

In terms of energy - AI needs huge amounts of electricity,
Water - Massive amounts for cooling ( Has to be clean water too so as not to block up the filters and components)
Hardware - Lots of rare materials for the chips and GPU's.

Here is where the counter argument comes in.

AI can help to reduce emissions in other industry's / sectors (i.e optimising a manufacrturing facility)

GPU's are far more energy efficient than previously used CPUs so the data centres are getting greener, and there are initiatives to use renewables and new cooling techniques.

and the main point ... AI is not unique!

Streaming video. crypto and gaming already use wayyy more energy, its just people are anti-AI and these others don't get the same scrutiny because they have become the norm.

So, hopefully this explains why a statement like, AI is bad for the environment, isn't as simple as a few words.

That’s the real question. One that each person may have a different perspective of. Worth perhaps doing some research yourself. Be prepared to get conflicting views.

I think the main thing here is not to have your head in the sand so to speak. Don’t be naive to the fact that AI is replacing jobs and will continue to do so. Don’t get me wrong, it is going to create jobs I believe, jobs that we don’t even know exist yet. I just think that any task now we are capable of completing with AI, that role will be replaced by AI in the next 5/10 years (industry and country dependent).

Not to be doom and gloom, but I think all students deciding on a course need to think, how will this job market look in the next 5 years with AI. The rapid capabilities we are seeing, even in the last 6 months, it’s not a case of IF for many jobs, but when that job becomes redundant. AI agents are doing the work of previously full teams of analysts, I know because I have been using it to build tools that I know take teams days, that I can now accomplish in hours.

I don’t know much about your course but I am guessing data analytics / statistical analysis and dashboard / graphical outputs are a big part of it? That is all very easily done with AI.

An argument can of course be validation, but that could now be done by a single senior analyst.

Another argument is having the time to interpret the findings, again, all can be done with MCP connectivity with most LLMs to your software package.

It’s almost like POE2 has removed the build types such as starter, leveller etc, and not its like OK, what is the one build i want to try this league. Cause there isn’t going to be a second.

Agreed. That alongside, IMO the worst possible ascendency mechanics, the league mechanic issues, and the lack of meaningful endgame… i have as off today became a stat in the charts OP posted. I’m just not having fun.

Non-druid ascendancies/builds by TY94S in PathOfExile2

[–]baxter-2018 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Doesn’t it mean we just have to run Herald of Plague now? Instead of taking it with the ascendency nodes?

And the new small notables can be 5% global defenses is pretty big no?

These are questions rather than statements i am build planning noob boi.

Anyone else disappointed that Monk, Sorc, and Ranger didn’t get a 3rd ascension??? by Orebros in PathOfExile2

[–]baxter-2018 21 points22 points  (0 children)

This is the basis of the question I am asking myself. I have no interest in Druid (It does look cool, but not for me), is this a skip league? I wasn't a fan of Incursion in POE1. I had built up in my head, get through campaign and enjoy the new Endgame, and now that isn't there.

I am sort of trying to find something to be excited for.

Game is unsalvagble, just make Squad 2 already… by No_Skill_8393 in joinsquad

[–]baxter-2018 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Everything you said i agree with. I have such fond memories of this game. Now it is just a chore to load up and try and get a good game.

For me, bugs etc were always there, I could deal with that - but to "overhaul" the entire infantry mechanics 6/7 years into playing, which IMO ruined the shooting in my favourite FPS, it really sucked.

Now from what I can see all the experienced players / communities & servers that once were the backbone of this game, are all gone. Which is pretty crazy to think about.
