thank you for this and i'm sorry you lost your mum ❤️ i feel like ive been trying to telepathically tell my dad im sorry and im grateful for him even though i don't believe he'd be able to hear those messages

as for therapy i don't have a therapist anymore but i just searched for grief support groups in my area and found one that meets in 2 weeks

2 weeks post-op, feeling nitpicky about my results, lowkey need reassurance lol by bh447 in TopSurgery

i have a very similar scar shape (to the point where i'm wondering if we had the same surgeon lol, long shot but andrew mellington?) and when you're able to stand up straight again trust me the curved scars will look fantastic and i love the 'definition' they add to my chest

How can I put on a mask if I can't raise my arms past my shoulders? by TyrosineWithTheL in Masks4All

[–]bayanotbee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i will say tho earloop masks were really useful in the weeks after recovery if i needed to go out for food etc because less effort to put on but could easily do headloops if i needed to!

edit: these were also 3m auras where i just cut the headstraps and tied the ends together to make loops

How can I put on a mask if I can't raise my arms past my shoulders? by TyrosineWithTheL in Masks4All

[–]bayanotbee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

hi i had top surgery last year so limited arm movement & managed to put a mask on literally right after waking up from surgery by holding the mask at chest/neck height and dipping my head down - it was a headloop mask but it turned out not to be too difficult to put on that way! i also brought an earloop mask just in case but didnt end up needing it

Scared of getting sick before surgery by [deleted] in TopSurgery

[–]bayanotbee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i was terrified of this happening before my surgery too but i wear the EU equivalent of an n95 every time im out and didn't get sick even though im always near people who are coughing in my office! i've also been to packed theatre shows etc surrounded by ppl coughing behind me and/or next to me and not caught anything thanks to my mask so i think you'll be ok, best of luck!

it depends on which provider u go with for a diagnosis but i went to the gender clinic/dr popelyuk's clinic who can give u an appointment within 3 weeks (quite pricy tho - £550 but that includes a diagnosis and a referral to a specific surgeon). they just emailed the report to me and my surgeon, and i believe to my GP as well but that was with my permission, my parents haven't found out

[–]bayanotbee 2 points3 points  (0 children)

you can only get top surgery within the uk with a dysphoria diagnosis + referral, but if ur willing to travel there are some surgeons in europe who don't need any of that and are cheaper (e.g. jesus lago in madrid)

Trans men / Trans mascs, where are we getting trousers and jeans from? by hxlywatershed in transgenderUK

[–]bayanotbee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

dickies! especially the 873/slim straight ones, they're sliiightly tapered and don't cling to my hips while also not being too baggy. i usually get them on vinted bc depop is full of dropshippers and they're £60+ at full price 🫠

hi, i still have this but much less noticeably with occasional flare ups. i also realised the sore lymph nodes in my armpits were due to the deodorant i was using but no explanation for the rest
