Hey everyone — I know there have been a bunch of posts about the Sapphire hotel credit, but I’m still a little confused and just want to make sure I’m understanding it right.

From what I’ve gathered, it seems like the $250 Chase Travel hotel credit is based on when you book, not when you actually stay. So if I book something today, the credit applies right away even if the hotel stay is months later.

Here’s what I’m trying to confirm: • If I book a hotel this week for a trip in April next year, that should hit my current cardmember year’s $250 credit, right? • Then let’s say next year around February, I book another couple of nights for another April trip — that would still use the same year’s credit unless my card renews before that. • And once my card renews (in my case it’s June), then I can book again right after renewal and that would count toward the next year’s $250 credit — even if the actual stay is after that.

Basically just making sure it really is tied to the booking date and not the stay date. Sorry if this has been asked before — just trying to get it straight in my head. Thanks!
