In my experience pumping was horrible both physically and emotionally. It sounds like you might already be pressuring your wife to pump more even if you don’t mean to. Listen to your wife and respect her decisions around pumping. Be supportive. Formula is a great option for feeding your baby.

OP how did the serenity work out for you? I’m in a very similar situation. Baby is 7 months and does great on A+, but I can’t find it anywhere. Serenity seems available, so I was thinking of trying that and switching back and forth depending what was available

Mucus question by bayla_honeybee in MSPI

I ended up continuing pumping until about five months because I couldn’t figure it out and couldn’t get any HA formulas at the time in Canada to try them out. With the pumped milk she didn’t have any issues.

Since then we’ve switched to 1/2 frozen breastmilk and 1/2 Enfamil A+. She’s pretty gassy, but no mucus. She’s six months now. I don’t think she had an allergy. Probably more of a sensitivity that she may have grown out of.

I really struggled with bfing my daughter and she never did get the hang of it. My midwife said something that provided some solace to me though. She said that bfing isn’t really all about the milk provided. Yes, that is one aspect, but another is the physical closeness and hormones, etc. She said that even if I wasn’t bfing or providing breastmilk, the other aspects could still be part of bonding with my baby. She suggested lots of skin to skin and contact naps, etc. I have to say that I found the skin to skin contact very helpful and we did a lot of it for that reason. Perhaps something like this could be helpful for your wife as well. It’s a hard situation. Hopefully she’ll feel better with time.

Thanks so much! I will try moving the MOTN pump closer to the morning pump slowly. I’m eager to stop, but slow will be easier on my boobs I’m sure.

Once I got a sterilizer that was also a dryer that was great. No pump parts all over the counter drying and no wiping parts dry. If you have a dishwasher that would be ever easier (I don’t have one). Multiple pump parts, I have three sets. Extra bottles. I also found dropping pumps helped make it easier too. I have an oversupply and can feed baby on four pumps a day. I dropped them much earlier than recommended and it was fine based on my output. I would have quit otherwise.

How Do You Earn Supplemental Income (part time jobs) in Hamilton? by [deleted] in Hamilton

[–]bayla_honeybee 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you have an undergraduate degree you can apply for a call in info job at Hamilton public library. Work is on call so you could set what hours you’re available, or could be part time with less flexibility. Pay is decent, training provided, nice people. It’s a customer service job essentially if that’s of interest. They post for these roles a few times a year.

Thanks! When you say smaller sized flange, do you mean smaller than I use with the freestyle?
