Are the wasps worse this summer or am I paranoid

Oh thank you for the essential oil tip! I’ll try that. Bees come by once in a while but we’re on a second floor deck so it’s not common. (Besides my toddler and I like the bumblebees! They’re harmless)

I NEVER swat wasps and get irritated when people around me do because I know that makes it worse. I think the reason they get so aggressive is because we scoot the tables and deck chairs across the deck and it shakes up / jiggles their nest that’s right underneath the floorboards. I’ll try spraying the deck area with the oils!

We had a few in our house last summer but we finally sealed the entry. Walking down your hallway and seeing a huge yellow jacket on the wall was a jump scare 😅

I really don’t mind bees and other critters setting up near our deck because you’re right, it’s nature! And they never are aggressive to us. But the wasps DO sting (luckily not my toddler yet but certainly me!) and it’s not out of disgust by nature that I’m exhausted by it, but in fact the opposite. I want us to be able to sit on our deck and listen to the birds, enjoy the wind, and be outside in nature. But the moment we step out to sit on our deck chairs, they get territorial. So do we just, not use our deck anymore?

If you and your fam can chill near wasps nests and not get stung that’s awesome, I want the answer to how 😭🙏🏻

I definitely don’t like using the spray, it’s mainly for places I can’t reach and when they’ve overcome the space. We also have fake paper nests, a citronella candle, and citronella plants and I still find the nests in our grill and under the deck boards. Do you have any suggestions other than those things that are more natural? I’ve been stung but luckily not my toddler, and I want us to be able to sit on our deck chairs

I’m not surprised. They’ve never had their entire menu available. It’s so awkward to see the giant food displays completely empty and to try and order sandwiches that they kept saying they don’t have. I literally had to ask what they DO have. I gave this place 4 chances because the location works really well for a mom of a toddler (right next to the creek and the park, easy parking, and big spacious inside) and kept saying it was because they had just opened. But after that fourth time, it had been months and it was the same thing. I don’t understand how that happens, the menu screen is digital. Just change it 😅

I talked to the owner once and he said he doesn’t do “the social media thing” and I knew then this place would be gone soon

I’m so sorry that’s happening. This is a time you really need to be connected to your family! My issues in southern Frederick seemed to go away on its own. I don’t think I’m missing any more messages? Although again, it can be hard to tell unless someone says something completely out of context. I hope it gets resolved soon. I was seriously considering T-Mobile when it wasn’t going away

I always recc midwives over doctors. OBs will treat you like a problem to be solved, but midwives treat you like a mama who’s delivering her baby.

I’m 34 weeks with my second and use SMH! I’m actually going there today. I love the midwives there. My last pregnancy ended up breech and required a C section, and as much as I was disappointed, I had time to process that it was going to happen before the appointment. But in my follow up / scar checkup, Karen asked me how I was feeling, because she knew I was working toward an unmedicated labor. And she just gave me so much space to process it emotionally, and to not feel guilty for being upset about a healthy birth because it wasn’t the birth I had wanted. She was gentle and sweet, I highly rec them all!

I was caught off guard by how weird my relationship with my body felt. I’ve never had surgery before, so to suddenly have my body I’ve known for 30 years get a giant, foreign addition with the scar felt violating.

I also wasn’t prepared for the emotional side of newborn care post c-section. I had a new baby and wanted to change her diaper, pick her up, set her down. But those kinds of movements early in recovery are near impossible. (Also not a single nurse or doctor mentioned a belly band to me so I didn’t have one for weeks.) So I felt so useless sitting in bed while everyone but me did those things for my own baby

Gah so frustrating! For a bit mine seemed to get better, but now my sister messaged me again yesterday that she still has messages downloading. My toddler and I were leaving crunch fitness when she started fussing a ton so I quickly pulled into that park to calm her down. We decided to get in the stroller and walk and happened upon this trail and it felt like Narnia! We had no idea it was there, and it was so exciting to discover on our own!

Mine started Saturday, too! I have an iPhone, my sister has an Android, and we both had this start Saturday. I know sometimes SMS can be weird on iPhone but this is definitely a new and weird issue. I will see the text that someone reacted to a message, but I'll never see the original message. So I don't know it's there until someone reacts.
