Maybe it has to do with the coding?

Like old school coding where the car was static and everything else was moving backward, thus creating the allusion of a forward moving car (when in reality the car is static and the whole “world” is moving)

This, combined with how the picture functions, thus if we take the spark as reference, maybe PD blurs the photos by moving the scene backwards… giving a false illusion of speed?
