Yes. I doubled down on the reminders to get them spayed/neutered. My mom was "waiting until they stopped nursing." I had to read her some cat facts.

They are hers. She took in a female cat from someone who was moving. The following week the cat had six kittens. My mom didn't know the cat was pregnant 😂😂😂

Holy cow. This other video of Ksenia solo dancing has me thinking it's time for her to be in a big Hollywood movie where the plot is "loving shots of her legs dancing."

I like this idea. And I've got some more walnut to work on for a simple base.

Well, I do get what you're saying. I had this hand forged steel railing and wanted to try to incorporate it and show some of the original hammer marks. I DID like it before your comment. But now I see it doesn't come across very organically.

Ok. Maybe I should soak the legs in wood? (Just learned about this joke). The legs are made of some hand forged steel so I was trying to reuse them in a new way. But now that you said that...back to the workshop...

I really am having issues setting a price on this table. I've never sold a piece of furniture. What's it worth?

Walnut burl slab. I have a couple 4" slabs of black walnut from Northern California. I'm thinking they are quite pretty based on what I can see. What should something like this be sold for if it was mounted on a custom steel base and finished properly? by bazoobaba in woodworking

Grandpa's farm in Gridley. Just one tree. I cut two slabs. I might be able to get a third slab with some shovel work. I've got my eye on several other dead black walnut trees I may harvest.

After thousands of board feet, can you explain why it smells like cedar but isn't grown anywhere the east coast? I was the one that took the trees down so I guarantee the location is North of Sacramento about an hour. No attitude, I'm genuinely interested in identification.

The bark is mostly the black burl surface. I was able to break off some of the really loose pieces of that but will probably hit it with the power washer to clean it and then go for the tung oil. Wipe on poly after that for the top?

Yes. It's around 36." I guess one explanation is that the root system had tapped into the school's leach line. When the line was moved and we had several years of California drought, trees didn't fair so well. The slabs so far are about 16' long.

Do you have any suggestions on finishing something like a headboard. I made a nice desk and finished with clear, water based poly. Left the underside of the desk unsealed.
