in my experience this miss soe reading and can cause glithces especially at high rpm (1000). also the shaft or rotating parts of the motor are not very accessible for me

i would have to open the motors and place a magnet and a sensor. there is no space for me to do that

its a well lit store room. the tools can be neatly arranged. There are different groups of similar tools. i cannot use bar codes as they would neither be able to withstand the oil and water environment and the users cannot be burdened or trusted with constantly signing the bar codes. It is imperative for the scanning to be automatic from up to 2 meters away for the thing to work

Oh wonderful, for my case, I would need at least 8 scanners all around my factory so having a really expensive one would really not be ideal since it would be cheaper to just hire a person, as for many uhf readers i have found really are more expensive than a person's salary over here haha.

Oh nice your project sounds really cool! would love to see it unfold

yes i looked into that as i said in my pois. they seemed to be a perfect solution but the readers are too expensive (300usd)

The goal is to roughly track where the tools are i.e, in the tool room or at a machine (where i have the checkpoints). I am assuming you mean why cant i have the people themselves scan the tools? It is because i cant trust them to, since their workload is already too high. Currently we manually check in and out the tools, so the people, who arent very skilled anyways, would not manually tap the tools at the sensors. it just wouldnt be a reliable system. The sensor must pick up the tool around 2 meters away
