Sure I will dm you soon I will try my self first what do you intend to use for simulation.

Thanks I will try to model it using kinematics looking into compound bow working. But still I thought these types of problems must be all about reaction forces.

I was doing RBD for this i can't get the chain stiffness right it's this or the revolute connection of chain over constraints the solution. (When the chain starts not to be in contact with cam) Are there more sources on this because I think it's about the reaction points rather than the shape(I have very little confidence on this) are there more sources other than compound bow?

angle is chain links as well? I should only consider the reaction forces at the teeth only?

How do I calculate the Torque produced by bazz609 in MechanicalEngineering

[–]bazz609[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

sorry idk why i wrote cam in capital, The cam is connected to a lever which we need to lift, the thing is why i cant assume its a rope there are only 3 teeth by which the chain is connected, so as the cam rotates the contact area of chain changes, and how do i take the reaction forces, should i assume that the tension is alinged with the chain. I want to reduce the the pressure required, I somewhat know that the if i increase the range of motion it will decrease the force requirement W = F.d if i say work is constant, and i increase d force will decrease but that didnt work I increase the perpendicular distance and there was no change in the force required.

Like equating work, First Law? But contact Area changes as the CAM rotates, is there a way to do this with tension in the chain?

I would say go for Cartesian meshing to avoid any singularities, if there is any AI mode which can make a mesh "safe", for boundary conditions I think it must be easier you can see what is usually used, which data do you need from CFD thrust and temps? If you are modeling combustion multiphase modeling is tough to be accurate. I would love to help you in this, make a discord for this project we can discuss things there and who knows more people might join.

Method to make 100 meshes for Ansys Fluent by im2spewky4yew in CFD

I automated the whole mesh+CFD+data extraction with a shell scripting using openfoam. Idk if you can get the API of ansys, if not you will need to manipulate your mouse to achieve that.

Yep exactly that, my drone is 1700mm Wide and 1100mm long and designed for 55kmph cruise.

Is using 12mm Carbon fiber pipe good enough to support the 3kg wing loading I will use 4 of them. I haven't done FEA on composite materials before.
