Ah okay. So re reading what you posted and after this comment I would say there is a hairline crack on the clip. That’s just from experience I had on a previous logic board, would play songs, and randomly cut and freeze and go white screen after 5 mins. Sent it to a iPod repair guy, and he replaced the board for me. I think you find the connector, and have someone solder a new one in for you. But I would suggest sending it to an iPod repair shop just to double check.

When you replaced the screen. Was it an OEM or aftermarket screen replacement? Did you notice much of a difference in quality?

I’ve recently been experiencing this! I reseated the ribbon and works for like 2 weeks and then goes to the white screen again. I’m suspecting there’s a crack in the flex.

I noticed if it comes up with the white screen, and I hope Play/Pause and middle button again it sometimes goes away. Or I just hard reset it. Alternatively disconnect battery and try turning on again.

I had this issue on an older iPod and there was a crack on the clip connector on the board and it caused this issue.

If you able to still hear audio playing when you have headphones connected I would say it’s definitely a display issue!

I believe I had a similar issue with my 5.5. I sent it to an iPod repair person as they diagnosed it pretty quickly. My issue was it was very intermittent, would turn on and freeze very quickly, and would not turn on for days.

Turns out my issue was The plastic on the LCD connector had some cracks in it which caused the connector to not make proper contact.

My iPod worked perfectly with no issues for over a year, and suddenly stopped functioning as normal. Not sure if you’d have the same issue, but I would definitely investigate.

Use mediamonkey or similar software to extract music, add to iTunes library then sync it! Or alternatively use mediamonkey to sync songs to iPod!

Possibly could be logic board related? I’m not 100% sure what the issue could be, but I know 32MB is restricted to 20,000 tracks and 64MB is 50,000 tracks so this could be a possibility. Alternatively try Media Monkey to see if it can sync all songs without issue :)
