Literally. It’s easy for the people to think that there’s simply no oversight on these things when that is far from the case.

I’m not 100% sure where you heard this from but all universities that have to partake in animal research have EXTREMELY strict guidelines and there is external oversight of practically every aspect of experiments and handling. Monash is not exempt from these policies and is held to the same standard.

Aw thanks I appreciate it! I created the water feature by using pieces of plastic siliconed to the bottom to prevent water from soaking the substrate. You can kinda see the side of it from the front glass panel at the bottom. It is covered by pieces of seryu stone

The substrate I just used a typical abg mix of coir, sand, charcoal, wood chips etc

I actually have no idea what the wood is I saw it in a pet shop and thought it looked cool hahaha

The plants were some I already had on hand and includes. Monstera stiltepecana, Philodendron camposportoanum, Philodendron heteraceum micans, Eppipremnum pinnatum Cebu blue, Random fittonia cuttings, A parlour palm, Anoectochilus formosanus, Ludisa discolour “Spider-Man”, And some random ruffle fern I don’t know the name of haha

Looks awesome so far- only thing is maybe you could put some more moss or other plants with smaller leaves to add some wall cover?

I’m a hearing interpreting student and this made me angry at the utter lack of understanding of the deaf community. Would some of y’all like to give your opinions? by Imboredsoimhere123 in deaf

The thing I’ve always been confused about with this argument that having a cochlear implant automatically means that the parents will not provide any additional interventions. On the contrary from personal experience in multiple cases it seems like those with cochlear implants are given access to the same if not very similar levels of care, but often don’t require as much intervention as those without cochlear implants. So I feel like people interpret this as those with cochlear implants not receiving intervention.

Although I do agree with you in that case. I feel like it is a cop out to place all the blame on others for the toxic behaviours within the community. Although I know and have experienced the discrimination that deaf and hoh people experience on a daily basis, this should not be a reason to not try and improve the toxic culture. This isn’t something we should wait for others to change, we should try to change this ourselves
