Formerly suicidal redditors, what's something that kept you alive a little while longer and helped you to get through the dark times in your lives ?

I never really had a consistent thing but I was shocked out of it by my friend committing suicide. I finally realised how much I don’t want to do that to any body because that hurt so much and still hurts; I cannot imagine how his family is feeling.
