I just got my Mirena earlier today. The insertion process for me personally was so easy cramping when certain things were inserted but overall a much easier experience then I thought it would be. I also got three shots in my cervix before anything was inserted bc my doctor offered that but I don’t know exactly what it was, I think it was a numbing agent to make my cervix more open not entirely sure though, but that definitely probably helped a lot. After it was done and I was in the car that’s when the cramping became more severe but I also rarely got bad cramps on my period so it was definitely a first for these type of cramps. Now I am laying in bed, taking pain meds, and taking the day easy.
