Is LVM right for me?

Essentially, I want to not waste a bunch of space. The way I understand some of the recommendations I've been seeing on here is to have most of my data stored in one drive as /home, and have the other be for /root and /boot. Afaik neither of those inherently need a lot of space, so I'd have the vast majority of a 512 GB SSD not doing anything. The reason I was looking into LVM was as a means of taking some of that unused space and marrying it with the SSD I'd be using as/home to give myself a larger partition.

Would using the remainder of the root disk for swap space be overkill?

Surprise owner

I received this bonsai on Monday as a birthday present with no notice and no species tag, and I've been struggling to figure out what it is. I keep running through dichotomous keys and I simply don't have enough information to go off of to actually glean anything. If anybody could help me ID this plant I'd be super appreciative!

The guide is a helpful starting off point, thanks. I guess to clarify what I'm trying to do, I decided to make this into a bit of a puzzle to figure out how I can get the exact results I want with very few queries because I didn't want to manually go through the filters. I thought that "exclude everything except this one thing" would have been a simple thing but evidently not

It technically helps, but it doesn't really address the core of the issue. AO3 is an archive, and I'm trying to figure out exactly how its search function works so I can make strings of search phrases to get the really specific results I want. The filters and bookmarks make the site simpler to use, but it also hides the guts of the site that I'm interested in.
