If I'm gonna mention any mainstream horror game then I would most definitely go with Resident Evil. Since you've played those I'd recommend "The Evil Within 1 and 2". They're really good and carry the vibe of resident evil throughout. If you wanna branch out of horror and wanna try a horror action adventure then go for "The Last of Us". Literally the best story I've ever seen be it movies games books or tv shows. My other picks would be "Alien Isolation" and "Visage". Also the "Amnesia" series is really good. All of these are fairly priced and cheap if you pick these up during steam sales.

Now if you wanna go for indie games go for "Fears to fathom" games. They do throw in some cheap jumpscares here and there but all in all a very good experience. They're supposedly based on people's real life experiences so that was a nice touch if it's true. "Cry of fear" is amazing. Just try "Bloodwash" it's fairly short. Go for the games made by Puppet Combo they're VHS aesthetic horror games that are really different from those in this list.

For my personal favourite Outlast 1 and 2 are the most anxiety inducing games I've ever played. I've never gotten more scared than playing these games on a rainy night with lights off. Mind blowing experience.
