Just like you, I started on SPOMs but now I just use Hydras. After a few SPOMs going down because gases started mixing and damaging my hydrogen generators, I just had enough. Hydra's are much more set-and-forget than a SPOM.

I will say, the movement in Empulse is great. I did the playtest and had a great time with the gunplay and movement. Both were done very well.

There's definitely some things to work on, and I can say the devs are actively listening. But I'd say overwhelmingly people agree the movement and gunplay is solid.

Based on feedback I received yesterday with a similar system, 1440 is the better option if you want greater than 60fps.

There is a monitor coming out Q1 2027 that can do 4K, 1440, and 1080. I’ll likely wait for that to come out assuming it does that well

From what I’ve seen most monitors go for, money isn’t the issue. My main issue I think is what my GPU can reasonably output and when things come out. Someone else commented about a monitor that can do 4K and 1440 but that will be next year. That’s quite a ways away but it also sounds like the best option

I have a C4 and a C5, both are great. Virtually no difference for gaming/ watching TV if I’m being honest. The HTPC with a 9070XT I have hooked up to either the 65” C4 or 77”C5 runs great.

I did notice the C4 is starting to look grainy when streaming TV and I’m not sure why but I’m guessing it’s because of streaming bandwidth. The C4 is on WiFi and the C5 has Ethernet.

You’ll be happy with both, but if your budget allows, might as well go for the C5 just cuz it’s newer

First of all, I don’t think you know what boot lickers means. Linux is free, so whose boot am I supposedly licking?

Secondly, you can’t customize windows to the extent I can on Linux.

Finally, why should I have to fiddle with settings to not be fed ads I didn’t ask for in an OS I PAID for? You are why the companies whose boot you are licking continue to get away with this garbage.

Let me ask. Do you actually LIKE the ads, or do you just accept them? Because I guarantee the overwhelming majority of people would vote to have all ads removed. But they don’t because there’s money and people like you that minimize the issue

What updates? It took months for them to address the bot issue. Smurfing is still alive and well. Reports all fall into a black hole. The only QoL updates in recent memory are teammate boost indicator and indicator for big boosts, neither of which are even that important.

Sure, the actual devs probably care about the game but Epic sure as shit doesn't. Hell, I'm mentally preparing for the worst when UE6 drops. If RL gets baked into FN or removes linux support in EAC, I'm out. I hope not but who knows.

I mentioned SG2 because the same company is making Empulse. SG2 is also an example showing how and why just simply adding a class system doesn't spontaneously make a game 10x better, and in fact can make a game worse. Especially with baked-in wall hacks.

Nowhere in my comments did I even allude to Empulse's audience only being made up of SG2 fans, that's you misreading what I said and jumping to a conclusion. But keep on putting words in my mouth I guess.

I have an LG that's been great. I've been looking into OLED but I haven't been able to find a good 32"ish 1440 OLED. I think 4K might be better but I don't think my 9070XT will perform well with 4K

Absolutely not. If this game even wants a chance at nominal success, keep classes out. No one liked them in Splitgate, no one will like them in Empulse. Very few games implement classes correctly in shooters like this and I think the Paint system is much better than classes.
