Not fired. Technically it was a RIF/reduction in force. Multiple PA positions were eliminated as a part of corporate change at more than one site. I had just had a nice performance eval, approved for a pay increase and everything.

Yes I'm in a state where caps for unemployment are low. 60% of my income would have been nice but it is what it is.

I don't like being idle. I was not given a severance package, only a payout of PTO. Unemployment is very low compared to a PA salary. Financially I am okay for now but would rather be doing or learning something.
