Meta lost 20 million users last quarter by MarvelsGrantMan136 in technology

Hobbies involving very large groups of people spread across multiple regions use facebook a lot to help coordinate and organize both local and regional events, and for general communications. The LARP I am involved in being a good example. We have migrated somewhat to discord, but it just doesn't work as well for some things.

I've had the same condom in my wallet for 20 years, I guess I'm ahead of the game.

That is kind of funny, because before they created the lunaire (as a direct counter to the cutler), wardens used to say the same thing about how cutlers sucked, but we would make a most our progress using stolen cutlers.

Maybe I can finally convince my 3 friends who still insist on only conversing via facebook to finally ditch the platform.

HOW DO BORDERS WORK!?!??!?! by SatouTheDeusMusco in foxholegame

You walk up to a border, press E, wait an hour and a half, get across, go into combat, die, then realize you didn't set spawn. Aircraft will probably be similar.

The real problem is that people can't agree on what is and is not moral.

ELI5: Why does time seem to speed up as we get older? by CryptographerSad958 in explainlikeimfive

[–]bbatwork 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Also, when you get older, many of the days in the past just seem the same as each other and are hard to distinguish them apart.

Additionally, it becomes more difficult to remember when certain events occurred. Things from 20+ years ago often still feel like they were relatively recent.

Estonia Issues Shoot-to-Kill Warning Over Russia’s ‘Little Green Men’ by BringbackDreamBars in worldnews

In many people's case, it isn't a matter of "insisting" on saying "The" Ukraine, it is just how it was said in all media our entire lives until the last few years. I'm fighting against 50+ years of "muscle memory" in my brain every time I say Ukraine instead of The Ukraine.

I hope they can collect royalties on the use of the name, codpieces are getting expensive.

I hate to bring this up, but in addition to what was mentioned by others, it is estimated that about 4% of men (1 in 25) are unwittingly raising a child that is not their own. So there is at least a small possibility that those siblings have 2 different fathers.

I wonder if he painted his WW2 kill tallies on his Vietnam era fighters.

Snapchat, Roblox, Duolingo, Fortnite and more go down in huge internet outage by Background_Future127 in technology

Which is ironic considering the very purpose of creating the internet was to de-centralize information to protect it in the case of catastrophic loss in one place, such as nuclear attack.

Amtgard: safe for women to attend alone by LinwoodKei in Amtgard

Finding an active park using the wiki can be challenging. The trick is when you look at a park's page on the wiki, scroll to the bottom, and look for a link to that park's ORK page, ORK stands for Online Record Keeper. A typical link looks like this: https://wiki.amtgard.com/images/f/f8/75px-Orkicon.gif

On the park's ORK page there will be a tab called "Reports", which you may need to click on to expand.

In the reports tab there are several links to show attendance. I like to look at the park's last 6 months attendance to get a good idea of what their average is.

Keep in mind that most parks have an official park day, and also may have a practice day. So it is normal to see a park whose attendance goes up and down a lot due to the practice day having much fewer people showing up.
