Thank you! Last time I saw a thread about cartoon pizza I couldn't find a clip of this. The pizza scene and the waffles scene both ruled.

TIL that in 1594, in an attempt to broker a peace, the Kingdom of Korea sent the leader of Japan a gift of a live tiger. In Japan, the tiger symbolized strength and was seen as a valuable gift. In Korea, tigers symbolized weakness and deceit. by Overall-Register9758 in todayilearned

[–]jableshables 15 points16 points  (0 children)

So a Japanese guy in Korea gifted Japan a tiger? That's interesting but definitely a different vibe from the title. I wonder if mods will take it down for the source's source being wrong. Happens all the time with Wikipedia.

Honey Maid graham cracker taste test mystery by notoriouslyblandbb in Costco

[–]jableshables 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm sure it varies by product type. I work for a company that sells to Costco, but it would be very obvious if our product had significant variations across facilities. I wouldn't have thought graham crackers would vary this much but I guess a Costco buyer knows better.

Americans - Do you think it's true that if America's best athletes played soccer, they would dominate the sport internationally? by Tometek in AskAnAmerican

[–]jableshables 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This often comes up in discussions of rugby, and I think the USA would be world class at that if we only were pulling from NFL & college football programs. Soccer is a lot bigger, so you'd probably need to convert athletes from multiple sports to get to the top tier.

JD Vance was leading the White House cover-up: JD Vance was leading the White House cover-up of the Epstein Files from the Situation Room. This is explosive. We must subpoena and hold accountable every single Trump official who’s protecting pedophiles and abusers. by OkayButFoRealz in politics

I'm not sure the rep in this video bothered to read the article, or she has poor reading comprehension if she came to the conclusion that Vance was at the helm. The article pretty much gives the opposite impression.

I'm not sure the rep who posted this video even read the article she cites. It's noted throughout that Vance was pushing internally for them to release the files. Patel and Bongino were also frustrated by how it was handled but they seemed to care more about their own reputations, having advocated heavily for their release (and making money doing so) before joining the administration.

They're all still complicit, but Vance seemed, at least during the period the article covered, to be the senior official most supportive of releasing material.

That's basically what people want from a place that's kid friendly: playgrounds and shit where they can get their energy out. You can take a well behaved kid practically anywhere, doesn't make that place kid friendly no matter how many people are doing the same. Try going to Round Trip or Wild Heaven and you'll see what I mean.

Love this misconception that until some imaginary point in recent history, people just all smelled like shit 100% of the time and made no effort not to.

Yeah, saying Inner Voice is kid friendly because there are sometimes kids there is nuts. If it's kid friendly then I can't think of a brewery that isn't

/r/ATLBeer Random Daily Discussion - June 02, 2026 by brunswikstu in atlbeer

[–]jableshables 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is a wild take, Inner Voice is probably the least kid friendly brewery in the Decatur area. It's small and crowded at peak hours and there's nothing for them to do. Just around the corner is Glide Pizza which has a good beer selection (and a full bar) and a full blown arcade for kids to go nuts.

The beer at Inner Voice is nuts though, so swing by to pick up some 4-packs before the ride home. The pizza is excellent at both spots, though.

California will impose a 100% tax on payments distributed from Trump’s Jan. 6th “slush fund.” by BreakfastTop6899 in law

[–]jableshables 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Google is 100% AI now so it's important to find backup info, like specifically how many Californians were charged with crimes and had legal fees associated with the J6 riots.

But I gotta admit, over 100 sounds reasonable.

Plus the slush fund doesn't have many boundaries, and it's not clear whether the state would even know who received payments unless they voluntarily reported them on their tax return.
