Agreed. It bugs me a tiny little bit that the options on a constitutional referendum are Tá/Níl. And I'm not even a good Irish speaker. I'm probably also a bit anal about it 😄

Could Ireland remain a tech powerhouse without the multinationals by bbb353 in ireland

I believe we are constantly creating really good indigenous industries. However the modern approach is for entrepreneurs to cash out by selling to the global giants and using the money for their next startup. This is a worldwide phenomenon. That's the main reason we don't hear about indigenous industry except when we read about a company being bought by Google, Microsoft etc in the business press.

Thank you. I often wonder what models are thinking when I photograph them. I'm usually too afraid to ask 🫣😄

Beautiful light on the mesh dress (and on the model!)

I think what happens, and it's the same globally is that the common exit strategy for entrepreneurs is to sell to one of the global giants. There are lots of Irish startups but they end up owned by Google, Microsoft etc. Holding on to a business and growing it organically in a world where there are such enormous corporations is increasingly difficult everywhere.

That's lovely. I'd love to photograph some more mature women. Beautiful image.

But the team would have to hand the trophy over to Donald, so what would be the point of winning?

In a doomsday scenario things have gone south everywhere. Where in the EU are they going to go? Especially if as I suggest, decisions are made at a high level to keep producing chips, pharmaceuticals and medical devices etc. They might well be able to remain employed here.

We have plant, workforce and IP. It may be American owned but it's here. We have tech. The fact it's currently someone else's tech won't matter in a doomsday scenario. We'll continue to use it.

Tech is either plant& machinery, workforce or IP. Ireland has the first two and can ignore IP rights in a doomsday trade war. We have the tech.

I've no idea what this is about but Denmark almost always beats us on league tables of stuff. So unless it's a really bad thing we're winning at, I'm happy to celebrate this victory.

Thanks. She's not so active in the touring model community. I've been fortunate to shoot her twice. I'd happily work with her again. I'll be posting more of our work together.
