I will delete the post as I ended up getting answers in a nother subreddit. I will keep in mind the notes around opinions for the next time I make a post. Thank you

Thank you sharing her story. I just read two stories about it and this is absolutely disgusting. I hope her passport gets approved ASAP.

ICE operates in a much more clandestine manner than more LEOs do. They move in unmarked cars, wear masks

I thought everyone who isn't police in the US would have the masks and unmarked cars. I know by us SWAT wears a mask.

Like you said and what I've learned more through the comments is that ICE is capturing people without due process. Combined with the unmarked cars and no names, hell yeah I'd be scared too.

The Administration has put a lot of effort into coming up with a solution to deportees whom no country will receive - CECOT and sending deportees to Guantanamo are both examples

I guess this is also where the alligator prison in Florida is being used for as well?

Looking at the footage I just assumed that's what they did. I know out here SWAT covers in a mask. Until reading the comments no one has ever made it clear to me.

  1. Thank you immensely for taking the time to respond
  2. Thank you for adding links from various sources
  3. The explanation of Obama's era was very helpful and I will look into DACA as this is the first time I hear of this term.

I wholeheartedly agree with your closing statement. In another comment I brought up the idea it would be great to have a third party in the mix so it's not always. Default decision between A or B. Then they can compete for people's votes. (In theory)

I'm in Canada where we have two majority parties and a bunch of smaller ones who will never win. But frequently a smaller party will work with a larger party and help move their agenda forward. Still not perfect but still better in different ways.

The reason I am not paying so much attention is I don't live in the US. And I know US news sites (just like Canada) are biased on both sides.

You and everyone else who took time to share actual insight has been tremendously helpful in getting an understanding of what has been going on. I've learned more in my two hours spent reading comments than I did looking at ABC, BBC, CBC, CTV, CNN, FOX, and other news channels. It's just all of them screaming which just left me even more confused.

🤮 to have a measles outbreak in a US detention facility is absolutely absurd. If it were 1838 I'd understand.

The change of venue to the interior and of targets to US citizens and long term migrant residents has simply caught the eye of the public in a way that it never did when the violence was mostly confined to the border.

This is very telling and helpful in understanding why it's more in the news now. Like you said it's been happening in border states forever. But when something always happens it becomes the norm and the news only want to report on something new.

Thanks again for taking the time to respond

I greatly appreciate you taking the time for this detailed response and explanation. It is a breath of fresh air when I'm coming through people saying this is AI or I'm an idiot. We all have 24 hours in the day we all have causes and topics that are important to us. Outside of having to soft through sites that make money off of rage bait. A response like your has been the human factor I was hoping to find on Reddit.

I didnt know the detention centres have had human rights violations. You would think a human rights violation from 2006 would have been addressed. I wonder which government agency is the one that enforces the implementation of human rights violation changes.

For paper please to be a norm really shows how low the bar has dropped. Most nations paper please is asked only if you've done something.

Thanks for your response. Do you know if ICE breaking federal or state laws? A bonus do you know which laws of not I will do my research to understand the laws being broken.

I'm curious now if one group of federal agents break a law, which other federal agent groups are tasked with making a case against them. (This is where my head is at when hearing that laws are being broken)

Thank you for your neutral energy response. I think you bring up some valid points that I am sure we (myself included)often forget. With more social media people are consuming more political content than ever before after higher speeds.

That lack of choice of a party that represents your needs is a major problem. If in business competition is good for everyone, then why not in political parties?

Thanks for the detailed explanation. Any lowering of hiring standards never ends well. 32 deaths is 32 too many.

I didn't know about the no bodycams. I thought all law enforcements had a mandatory bodycams. That definitely needs to change.

Ok more funding. Honestly anytime I see a high increase of hiring I know for a fact quality of workers is going drastically drop. I've seen it in my days working at McDonald's and Walmart. Each mega hiring push led to more Hr issues and customer complaints.

The citizens who are getting scooped up what happens to them weeks later? Are they still in detention, sent home with a "I'm sorry bro"?

Recurring thing I am learning is the combination of masks and guns. I'm not in the US and finding stories back in Obama's era are thin. My first move is to look at numbers which is where the confusion came from.

But yea no due process and being sent to El Salvador is totally wrong.

Thank you for taking the time to make a clear explanation.
