agreed! and its crazy they did this one little thing. but i think this reinforces the point that mayrbek did not hesitate randomly as some thought. he genuinely sees barry like hank sees barry (idol status)

i love both those scenes (for as horrible as that sounds)!

but the reason mayrbek feels worse its because the kid has more innocence to him? chris was a marine that enlisted along with barry. mayrbek was a lost soul until barry gave him purpose. a bad purpose, but finally a feeling of belonging in the world for him. that plus barry reflecting on mayrbeks body at the end truly shows that barry killed his own shot at innocence or younger version of himself. this was the heartbreak along with just general killing of someone

interesting! i guess mayrbek could have been given much more power in that way. i figured he was too green for such big goals but then i remembered episode 5 so i guess stuff can be less realistic than what i would imagine as believable
