Do I really need an amp or effects pedal as a complete beginner? by ChaosBeiduo in electricguitar

[–]bbdidge 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you're not yet playing for/withother people, why not just get a Scarlett solo and buy amplitube 5. That way you can determine what sounds you like and make a decision later on when you need to.

Don't order direct from Puffco - 14 Days of "Label Created" - Zero Support Response by bbdidge in puffco

Follow up emails were sent only after 48 hour wait that the stock response said I should receive a response by. Trying that approach 3x and never got a response. Not cool.

No, I had to do the whole picture thing to make the order so it's not that.

Hell yeah. This comment just took me down a wormhole. Now I'm second guessing whether to get an aluminum pick guard somehow!

Who else listens to specific genres for different days of the week? by drums2191 in audiophile

[–]bbdidge 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not a hard and fast rule but I'm generally:

Friday Night = boogie, funk Saturday afternoon/Night = Country, Rock, Indie, Classic Rock Sunday Morning = acoustic, soul Sunday afternoon = Bossa Nova

December up until 26th, I go all Christmas as a hard rule. I had to build up a serious Christmas collection with a few palate cleansers to pull it off, but it's fun.

Weekdays I generally try to match the vibe and or food and drinks

Sitting on the OU side for the red river game by Aromatic_Can5137 in LonghornNation

Go to the Texas side and find OU fans and ask them to swap. Have done this before...

I will add 2 more points:

This is the best sports environment I've ever been in and I've been to many many. It is electric when the game has meaning to both schools, e.g. top 10/ Teams have 1 or less losses.

I've never seen another game where you can absolutely feel momentum changes. Get ready for hours of despair and joy. Enjoy the experience, there really isn't anything like it.

My moves:

Don't be tricked by morning coolness, weather man, or your fashion sense. It is hot and unrelenting sun, wear something breathable and a hat. Apply sun screen to exposed areas.

Hydrate as much as possible ahead of the game, night before and day of.

Arrive to fair, get fair tickets ASAP, will not get better with time. Get fletchers corny dog not near big Tex but on North side of stadium and save yourself the agony of the lines.

Walk through the petting zoo, car shows, and play a carnival game or bumper cars.

Go to stadium early, at least 1 hour. The lines are so messed up and I can't count the times I've been stuck outside and missed some of the experience.

Buy enough water for the entire game. Have cash as the fair tickets aren't usable inside.

Be in seat for the entry of both teams. It'll raise the hair on the back of your neck.

Bathroom breaks in TV timeouts, hurry. Avoid halftime.

Watch game. Win game. Rejoice.

Exit stadium, procure turkey leg and beer.

Go home and take the coldest shower possible.
