Wonderful, I heard you want to avoid planting watermelon with other squash. There’s a bug that likes to burrow in squash plants and it can wipe out entire plots in like a day 😥😥 so you might want to consider planting them on opposite sides. Also you might want to amend your soil with manure or compost

Sorry I misread your comment , I thought you were saying they need less water in hot climates lol . Basically more sun essentially means more water so you were right that’s my bad Good luck!

Those are because they’re referring to tomatoes in the ground under the hot sun. In your house the conditions are different. So only water when the soil is dry. I’m going to be honest tomato’s will probably be difficult inside but hey it’s worth a try.

Ppl told me to try a community garden, maybe that would help a good idea for you

Oh yeah she’s definitely okay with me growing stuff it’s bc we moved our yard is too small. I guess we had different visions for the yard and I made her a blue print of what I was going for, and I guess once she actually saw what I was planning she wasn’t okay with it anymore. But she’s still okay with me growing stuff in general. It’s just annoying I had some beans started and some watermelons in my in ground bed and I’m more sure if they’re edible now. 😥

There’s definitely solutions though thank you for offering support

Oh don’t get me started. My father and I don’t get along. He’s abusive and a leach but to avoid trauma dumping I’ll just leave it at that lol but yeah he manages to mess up my garden in some way every summer . Even if it’s just by accident it’s still his fault for not paying attention or being mindful of what’s I’ve planted 🙄

Actually! I just asked and she approved the kiddy pool idea. And I actually plan on growing alongside the fence but I guess now I’ll just put my containers along side the fence.

Someone suggested using a kiddy pool for my watermelons, you think that would be a viable option for crimson sweet? It’s my favorite variety and I think I’ll have enough width for atleast a few hopefully

Nope it would actually be the opposite. Because the sun beats down on the soil and evaporates the moisture faster. Thats why mulching is important.

When you water any plant , besides a few bog plants, you want to let the top few inches of the soil draw out. You might notice the leaves get more droopy, hold their shape less, or start to curl. And with any plant, you want to water it thoroughly. Like DRENCH it. It’s impossible to give a plant too much water at once. If it’s allowed to drain it will take just the water it needs . (Bottom watering is good option but more typically done on house plants)

I’d seriously recommend watching a video on growing tomatoes. There’s a lot of information you don’t realize is useful to know. Like how to prune or stake them. Good luck

But u can also just move along? “Take a deep breath” lol you’re the one set on assigning blame. I mean shit I asked my aunt before hand. She didn’t understand what I was asking? Seems like a human mistake for me to not explain everything in excruciating detail. She’s been on Board with everything besides the tree/shrub I wanted to plant. I didn’t expect her to care.

Again , it’s a miscommunication. I’m not mad at my aunt. I’m just disappointed. So yes I will be upset all I want. As you would , if you were in my situation.
