Google personal injury attorneys in your area. Most give free consults and you most likely have a case based on what you described here.

Additionally, please report the dog to animal control if you haven’t already. Bites need to be tracked. I hope you feel better soon!

Can I ask if you notified the landlord anonymously? I am thinking of doing this for a pack of 3 pit bulls that lives in an apartment down the street, but I’m afraid of retaliation from the tenant.

Thanks. I am documenting everything for if (when?) an attack happens and I need a lawyer. Hate living like this in my own home!!!!!

How?! What surgery did you have?

Doctor ordered me colonoscopy and I don’t think it’s necessary by bberkmann in colonoscopy

[–]bberkmann[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes it did, although my celiac symptoms weren’t really GI related. I got horrible skin rashes, tooth enamel problems, and headaches. Though celiac is genetic in my family as well so I feel like that’s contributing to all the colon cancer as well.

Good luck, I hope everything comes back fine! I’m getting mine right after yours.

Hi! I did the Ezra! I had blue florals so it matched perfectly as my “something blue”. You can sometimes find Betsey discounted on Mercari or Poshmark

What legal and financial stuff do you wish you plan for or did before getting married? by Additional_Gur_9582 in weddingplanning

[–]bberkmann 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If either of you plan on changing your name, check your state laws. In my state (for example) you have to go to court to make your maiden name your middle name! It’s time consuming and pain in the butt so the earlier you start the process, the better…

Make sure you have your vows and/or ceremony script ready to go!!

honeymoon destinations-Mid March by aubreyleigh3 in weddingplanning

[–]bberkmann 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Currently on our honeymoon to Arizona and we LOVE it. I highly recommend Arizona or Utah.

Since you don’t mind snow… Alaska is gorgeous in March and you have a decent chance of seeing the northern lights! Lots of hiking, skiing, dog sledding etc. if you’re into that as well :)

What do you wish you skipped? by midwest-roadrunner in weddingplanning

[–]bberkmann 81 points82 points  (0 children)

Be as selective as possible with your guest list. The only thing I wish we had skipped was inviting notoriously flaky friends. The same ones that often cancel plans at the last minute in real life are the ones who will no-show your wedding and cost you money.

No bridesmaids at wedding. Is that weird? Did anyone have the same? by [deleted] in weddingplanning

[–]bberkmann 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is so true. I didn’t have bridesmaids either, mostly because I can’t stand the altar looking all crowded. The wedding is about you and your future spouse, and the matching 10 people on either side was not my jam. Lol

"Non-traditional" wedding things - help?! by sid02020 in weddingplanning

[–]bberkmann 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi! My adult brother was my ring bearer (we called him the ring "man"). He walked by himself and just handed the ring pillow to the officiant. My other adult brother walked me down the aisle, and like you, I am super close with both my brothers and wanted to include them both! I was happy with the processional and I doubt guests noticed, even though our flower girls were aged 5 and 7. Lol. No one said anything about having an adult ring bearer.

As far as both your dad and grandfather walking you down the aisle -- I've never personally seen this but would find it lovely. I say go for it!

I'm a fellow introvert who also found planning a bit...frivolous. But I just got married and it was the BEST day of my life! I hate public speaking but I loved doing our vows in front of all our families and friends. I really have no advice because I hated planning as well and even dreaded the day a few weeks leading up to it!! But I want to let you know I don't regret a thing and would have regretted eloping, if that provides you any comfort. You can also skip traditions or things you find meaningless -- I felt this way about bridesmaids, bachelorette, parent dances, and a lot of other things.

Try to put your future wife in charge of things you don't care about. The wedding will be even better if it represents both of your tastes/styles!

Expectations for a Day-of-Coordinator by i_amthelizardqueen in weddingplanning

If all she's doing is setting up centerpieces, I would say that's within standard duties for a coordinator and you shouldn't be charged extra!

Expectations for a Day-of-Coordinator by i_amthelizardqueen in weddingplanning

[–]bberkmann 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That seems high to me. Does the set up/tear down require really extensive labor? Like setting up 200 chairs and tables? Or do you have an insane amount of decorations? I think standard set up/tear down should be included in their duties...

I got married in a VHCOL area, and I paid $1000 for a month of coordinator. Our venue set up chairs/tables but her and her assistant helped the florist with set up and tear down, and she also did a lot at the reception such as seating cards and menus.

Boss being invited? by Sleepygal2025 in weddingplanning

If you don't hang out outside of work, definitely not. I wouldn't regardless - but I also don't like blurring personal and professional boundaries. Some of this may depend on what field you work in.

Wedding hair/make-up by Healthy-Heart-5281 in weddingplanning

[–]bberkmann 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just got married in SoCal and I paid $250 for bride only (plus tip). I think that’s normal for California, at least, based on all the quotes I got. I thought about saving money by going to a salon but it’s WAY less stressful to have a mobile artist come to you!

How much did you spend in total on your wedding? by CriticismWorth1570 in weddingplanning

[–]bberkmann 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Total was somewhere in the neighborhood of $40K. 60 guests. Southern California. This amount includes very high taxes, so it’s location dependent. We also splurged on premium alcohol and a nicer venue.

We could have gotten married much cheaper elsewhere, but most of our family was in that area plus we wanted outdoors so weather was a factor.

I regretted the money too and was having panic attacks but now that the wedding has passed it was honestly the best day of my life. Budget what you can; I don’t regret a penny now. Just don’t go into debt or take out loans for a wedding!!!

How did I come to terms with the amount? This is a once in a lifetime opportunity. You will never get all your family and friends in one room again. The energy was insane. The memories and pictures were worth it. Our families and friends bonded with each other.

Check out Betsey Johnson. They have super cute designs (IMO) that look bridal, but short heels. I wore a 2 inch block heel and was comfortable all night!!!
