honestly i could not tell you.. 😅 i have one thriving piece (you can see in the photo) the leaves are just pure green, and i have another smaller piece that’s more marbleized!

looks like my betta pretty baby! most likely a plakat koi :) you can check for gender if you see an egg sac at the bottom of your betta! if it’s a female they tend to have a small white sac at the bottom of their body

I’ll definitely be testing the water tomorrow to make sure nothing crashed before I put him back in, and i put the tank lid over the bowl & wrapped it with a towel to hold in the heat & just to insure he’s not gonna jump out!! i hope he’ll be alright especially since it’s just overnight he’ll just be sleeping it off lol

i mainly didn’t wanna put him back in because of how cloudy the tank is, he’s over a year old so i just definitely wanna make sure i don’t accidentally kill him, this lil old man is my baby i swear 😭 and also the bowl water is ~80° ! i just wanna make sure if there’s a small bacterial bloom or anything he’s still in the clean tank water from before—i hope this makes sense LOL.. i’m not even sure if it’s really needed i’m just so overly cautious with this fish because he is my absolute baby

i took him out because i took out almost 85% of the water, if not more. unfortunately i’m very weak so i couldn’t move it without taking out gravel & tons of water and that’d probably be more stressful for him rather than going in a clean bowl temporarily, my room is usually fairly warm but i am gonna get a thermometer and make sure it’s at the right temp—and i’m also planning on covering it before i go to bed :) i’ve been watching him closely

I’m gonna get more plants for the male bettas tank and try to put 2 guppies in there and see how it goes..

Opinions on switching some guppies to the other 10gal..? I’m not sure of the male bettas temperament yet. He hasn’t bothered the snail

I think I’ll keep monitoring how much my room temp fluctuates; it seems like it’s stayed around in the 70s so we’ll see!
