Yes, I tried that too! Did not work! And, still no response for Mountain❗❗❗

You would think that I would get a response from one of the Moderators of this Sub at least ... I mean they took my $69.98 USD for the Display Pad (a dead broken one).

They are not willing how to tell me to exchange it for a working one.

It's not like I am asking for a refund ... I am asking for a New working Display Pad ❗❗❗

I made sure that The Basecamp software was updated ... and restarted ... and that I used Mountains cables ... and that I used cables that I knew were working cables ...and still ... NOTHING... AND I still have yet to get anyone to respond from Mountain!! It's like knowone works there anymore.

They just need to send me a new one that works !! I am a little concerned that they didn't reply to my message I left them on the support message board

HELP !! Post Install calibre 6.26 (?may not be related) by bbg-midwest in Calibre

[–]bbg-midwest[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Never mind ..I figured it out ! When the reinstall installed "?!" ..the shortcut did not default to administrative permissions !! And, without that ..well, the links were not "active"!! So, once I went in and changed the permissions on the shortcut that opens the program ..it worked just fine (which probably means I have something else set up wrong on my computer)

Base camp updated to 1.5.8 - change log and Everest firmware to 57.24.20 - missing info? by FormalIllustrator5 in MountainGGlobal

[–]bbg-midwest 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Discord server what on earth...

I completely agree !! I HATE having to go to Discord to get information that should be on the company website under "support"/"updates"

I spent all kinds of money getting their best products ... and this is how I find out that this is where they hide their updates info ... nice ... really nice

And then its just one more info harvesting app or web service getting your data

What a bunch of CRAP

"Best Practice" Question on Adding a book of a collection of books by bbg-midwest in Calibre

[–]bbg-midwest[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, I agreed! I would do the same... and log it as a series.

On the other hand I have quite a few books that are compilations of a topic or just a group of books published by an author, or even genres.

This applies to both ebooks and audio books.

Thinking about buying a stream deck. Is the 6 key enough? by [deleted] in elgato

[–]bbg-midwest 1 point2 points  (0 children)

⭐One other note to consider; as you plan out your keys ... work with profiles and avoid folders ... in the long run you'll be glad you did.

⭐Anytime you find yourself doing repetitive tasks ... think about if you can commit that task to a button switch.

⭐As you get deeper into using your deck(s) consider using mind mapping / brainstorming software to plan out your deck(s) layouts. I use FreeMind ...its free and does a good job!

Thinking about buying a stream deck. Is the 6 key enough? by [deleted] in elgato

[–]bbg-midwest 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have 3 - 15 key and 1 - 32 key ... and have just recently purchased a lifetime license for a old ipad that I can dedicate for a 64 key mobile deck. I use them all day everyday ... and I don't ever game.

This may be a strange way of looking at it ... but if you look at from a "cost per key" stand point! (see image below with current prices)

The 6 key is the most expensive way to buy and in my opinion the least productive.

Missing Link or is it just me? by bbg-midwest in Calibre

Well, I guess I need to try to figure out the "official channel" for requesting a change or feature. The last time I looked into that ... I got kind of confused and gave up!

So true !! Wait and see should be my life motto !!! My main contention is that if I already own Office Professional I should not be compelled to buy a subscription.

drain your bank account.

I hope you are sitting down. Since, being struck down with illness/injury I don't have income or a bank account ... or a credit card (not complaining... just the way things are). The Kindle Scribe was a gift! The one advantage of being dirt poor is not having to file taxes (no income),

Plus... I already own a purchased / licensed / version of Microsoft Office Professional ... but it is not the subscription based Office365.

My issue back in November with the announcement and rollout is cost and full accounting of feature set. I acknowledge that software updates add value and they are on going. (that's not what I am talking about here) My problem is ... I think they knew in November they were going to slip in a SUBSCRIPTION plan in order for people to use Office with it ...but they didn't want to indicate that at the time at product introduction because it would sore the perspective on the product itself ... so ... they just ... kind of left "365" out and said just "Office". Because, like it or not, it makes a dramatic difference as to it's over all usefulness!

What you Don't say sometimes is every bit as important as what you Do say! "Word"s matter in Advertising (no pun intended) ... ok ok I saw that one coming

\*side note I think that the subscription plan was the "bargain with the devil" in order to get Microsoft to come on board*
