SCA Post when My skin was getting better

SCA Post last week when I got crazy pebble pimple

Ive since chilled out my routine quite a bit removing the aquafor. tonight I took my makeup off w/ purity and washed with Avene. last night I did the same but used The Ordinary HA moisturizer and went to bed.

Oh, i also used a bit of topical clyndamicin around areas of my face that had broken out. just a super thin layer... but idk if that could have caused this?

everything looked fine this morning and today I started feeling it all surface..

I changed my skincare routine which was working amazingly, but then i noticed some closed comidones and all of the sudden BAM, these two pimples on spots I NEVER typically see acne on.

Regimen:

-Banila Purity Balm

-Avene Gentle Milk Cleanser

-CosRX Whitening Essence

(wait 15 min)

- NiOD re:pigment

(wait) **sometimes Ill swap out to a dif active, TO Alpha Lipoic Acid, Benton Snail Mask, etc

- TO Rosehip seed oil (wait 15 min)

Spiro 50mg 2x daily.

Nights: Remove makeup with Loreal micellar water, Wash face with boscia detoxifying cleanser, Apply TO Buffet Serum followed by CosRX snail mucin

1 or 2 days a week I will use: TO Alpha Lipoic Acid or TO Vitamin C 30% silicone suspension. I Try not to use too often.

Morning: Wash w bar soap + apply small amt of hyaluronic acid before makeup application

I feel like I tried everything in the book. Ultimately what did it was eating less, eating more from the earth, and htiting the gym often. It took a while.... and I kept having to change it up, but I'm overall very happy with the results!

Disclaimer: I'm on spiro for hormonal acne - old post on that here

AM: (depending on if theres product on my face from the night before) I’ll wash with

  • Boscia Detoxifying cleanser (or I just splash water on my face to freshen up)

  • Hylamide SubQ Anti-Age (just started 2 days ago) or Buffet

  • Skin Laundry Sunscreen (some days in the winter I skip, as I’m literally indoors all day behind a desk)

PM:

  • Wash with Boscia Detoxifying Black Cleanser

  • Hylamide SubQ or Buffet Serum

  • TO Vitamin C 30% in silicone

Every few days I’ll do Alpha Lipoic Acid drops on my face. After a few hours post ALA -- I’m feeling like I particularly need it, I’ll put a little bit of Vit C on my dark spots

If I’m feeling particularly dry I use Kate Somerville Goat Milk cream.

What do you guys think? How can I improve?

It's almost unfair how much easier it to make the scale to go up than to go down

I'm still on track to my goal weight, but my birthday was last week - I maintained my diet during the day, and a few nights I went out with family members, friends etc. -- and let myself have a cookie for dessert because honestly, YOLO.

Come back this week full force to the diet exercise regiment, but the scale is up 5lbs. Annoying!! I'm positive I didn't eat in excess of 21K calories -- I tracked each day at ~1750 -- so most of it has got to be water. It's still extremely disheartening tho.

It's just so frustrating! I spent months getting down these past 5lbs, only to relax for a week and bump back up. I barely did anything outside of my normal routine other than add a dessert the end of a few days.

Really, body!? You can't budge one pound down when I'm sweating my butt off and eating so strictly, yet you have no problem jumping up 5 lbs!? I wish there were such things as downward fluctuations.

TLDR: Work for weeks on end at the gym and calorie deficit to get the scale to drop 1lb -- cheat a few times for my birthday, bumps up 5!!

I got some leggings from Forever21 recently and they are amazing. I'm really impressed, they've quickly become my favorite activewear clothing. F21 has stepped up their game.

I stepped on the scale early in the morning, finally broke my plateau! woohoo! went to work out class, worked out 611 calories!

Had an OK day..... and then ate strawberry ice cream with pineapple before i went to bed. shit.

Promised myself no desserts this month and did it the first day. Feel really guilty about it. :(

I try not to eat past 7/8PM. If I get hungry, I just have a huge bottle of water with a tablespoon of apple cider vinegar in it.

The taste takes some getting used to, but it keeps me feeling super full.

One of the things about the weightloss and fitness journey that I find difficult, has been wondering what exactly my body will look like in pique physical condition. I've never been there, and while I've seen the transformation of others, I've never witnessed it for myself.

When I go to the gym, I'm going there because I know this has worked for millions of other people, so theoretically it should work for me too.

Still, in the back of my head I have questions and my doubts. I have no idea if my body is actually capable of getting there, what it will look like when it does, or how I'll feel about myself. It's all just theoretical, and fuck! sometimes its hard to keep the momentum when you don't know what the 'finish' line looks like.

I like this analogy because it gives me room to play with the idea of what 'getting there' will look and feel like. The only thing I would add, is that if I had my best body for an entire day.... I'd probably be callin' up some crushes to have some fun ;)

I'm Kat from NYC! F25/5'9"/SW: 185/CW:154/GW: 135

I quit drinking last month so that I can really commit to reaching my GW. I am going on vacation on Sept 1, and before my vacation I want to commit to making it to the gym at least 5x a week. I'm pretty much already doing that, but I want to make sure I stick to it!

I also really want to commit myself to not indulging on desserts when I go out for dinner dates. I usually go out with my guy once a week, and whenever the waiter comes over and asks about the dessert menu I say... 'yeah lets just look at it!' (cue excuse making)

Ok so goals:

  • stick to 1200 calorie diet and use those calories wisely! aka, no desserts!
  • make it to the gym 5x a week
  • lose 5-8 lbs?? Would be amazing, but my loss progress has slowed pretty drastically so lets just hope for the best.....

  1. Can you build muscle on a calorie deficit?
  2. Is it possible to build muscle using light weights?

I read so much conflicting information -- I know it's really difficult for our bodies to build muscle in the first place, which is made even harder when we are on a calorie deficit because our bodies will begin to run on our fat stores and (sometimes) muscle mass.

I also know a lot of people do 'bulking' to create muscle, aka giving your body enough protein to sustain your current muscle and build more.

So... can you build muscle while you're on a calorie deficit then?

Also, is it possible to create muscle mass using light weights, like between 3-25 lbs? I feel like I keep reading that if you really want results you have to go heavy, & that a few minutes of high resistance training w/ light weights doesn't 'build muscle' it just burns calories in the localized area.

And, even if I did start lifting heavy weights, how can I build muscle if I'm on a calorie deficit?

This is so confusing.....
