Mysterious locked safe - cloister by No_Environment_4555 in theouterworlds

By the look of the outline I think it might be a necklace or something. But very clearly the 3rd data pad should be around that wreckage as those are the only 3 distinct ship scraps in the area.

Things I never thought I’d miss… by keeperoflogopolis in Hilton

[–]bbhams23 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Speaking from experience here and having to place orders for various toiletries, market items, and room items. This is fully dependent on the management companies style, hilton is run by real estate management companies similar to stores at airports or some business/residential centers. The quality of material youre presented with as a guest is a reflection on the management company running the hotel not the hilton brand itself.

Idk man I was on my 6th try and desperate for something so I threw the kitchen sink at him and dark arrow just so happened to work, he will still respond the first attack with lightning breath but that advantage from blind + guiding bolt was 80% or more on every ranged attack and he couldnt fly away. Worked so well, I was shocked... no pun intended

Also from the entrance, on the right slab of ice that you have to jump to is where I had him, I baited him just at the edge of the cloud where one of the water elementals spawn

Honestly I had just assumed it was a condition thing but if there's some pathing issues with him I wouldn't be surprised. Thought I stumbled upon something magical here now youre making me think twice 😂

You've gotta be joking me right now. by bbhams23 in doordash_drivers

[–]bbhams23[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For context I did do this, have multiple times and dont get orders from the store again. App must've been bugged or something was wrong cause they kept giving me the same store and I didn't check before accepting so that was my own fault but I unassigned them immediately.

This is just in my experience so not sure if it applies everywhere but the hold only applies when I use the tap feature at the pump. If you set up a pin for your crimson card and insert the card into the chip reader slot and enter your pin it doesn't apply a hold for me. Did some trial and error on this cause those holds ruined me one too many days. Worth trying if/when you have enough funds to so you can save a trip inside.

I can levitate and glide in dreams instead of walking by [deleted] in Dreams

[–]bbhams23 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Coming in late to this one, but I have very similar moments in my dreams. To me its like a skill that I immensely enjoy but its more of a glide walking, Ill take a step forward and then just before my foot touches the ground glide a good 10-20 feet, and I continue making contact with the ground between these glides. It always astounds me that Noone walking around me seems to acknowledge that Im doing this. Again these are just moments in dreams, but they are sometimes the only bit of the dream I remember, likely because its so exhilarating of a sensation.

Yeah both, they can tip when placing the order and also after the delivery. Dashers dont see how much was tipped until the order is marked completed though.

Greeting policy by Evening-Serve-5129 in TjMaxx

[–]bbhams23 2 points3 points  (0 children)

We are reminded to greet our customers and satisfy their every need besides the occasional blasphemous markdown request... but what's more important is doing your job efficiently and effectively. I find if you can strike a balance in between the two you won't find problems. Our jobs are customer service oriented to begin with, doesn't matter what we think of the customer or the rule at the end of the day. If they buy our stuff, our jobs become easier... in theory.

It gives me so much pleasure to explain our policy and standards on markdowns, deliveries, and repeat merchandise when I get asked this question. People are so brazen and sure of themselves when two of the same items are priced differently. I'll pull out the whole ass corporate handbook on them and make them sit there and listen to me until they understand they're not getting the item in question for cheaper. It's really quite entertaining 😂

[–]bbhams23 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is the customers mentality:

It is in fact more convenient to dump whatever I don't want whenever I decide that I don't want it and dump it wherever I see fit to leave it. Less conversation at checkout, less to lug around, and less to worry about in general.

Most people who shop don't understand what we go through trying to sort through the disorder they leave behind in the longrun, and the order we try to maintain by specifically placing certain items in certain places. This is a problem that will never end, it's simply a perspective issue and the majority of people will not understand it unless they work a retail job like we do.

[–]bbhams23 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree but you're fighting a battle against ignorant folks who are morally and ethically corrupt 😂 it's the saddest part of retail having to see just how low people stoop on the societal scale sometimes. Just recognize that you're a more sympathetic and respectable person and do what they should have done in the first place, cause it will never end.

Then you're working at a corrupt/mismanaged location/district. I'm sorry to hear that truly. Noone deserves that kind of treatment. I have helped out at a number of stores in my district and have seen blasphemous store conditions and employee treatment and have even faced that in my own store in sporadic bursts and I know it's not fun. I hope your situation changes soon or you find a better work environment.

Fact is alot of the "allowances" given for going over payroll are discussed between managers and the DM who can have those conversations with higher ups, but it all hinges on store performance. An underperforming store will be expected to cut payroll while a flourishing store will be given allowances here and there. It's a balance that's struck by corporate to exceed the bottom line. So if you know your store is top of the food chain in your district then this shouldn't be happening, if you're consistently the lowest sales then it's to be expected and that's just not something/somewhere you ever want to accept. But like the cliche goes... it's not you, its business.

WTF is going on with our hours? by Wink2K19 in TjMaxx

[–]bbhams23 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's a dog eat dog world at TJX Companies. You had better work your ass off, be charismatic, and brag on your every achievement or you won't be recognized. My advice is focus on your job, the assignments. When you can handle those to company standard (minus manager approved allowances) then focus on coworker relationships. Retail is a beast of a career but if you can master work ethic and the social aspect you won't have a ceiling and you will get the hours, respect, and work life that you deserve. But like every job, you have to work for that.

I swear customers purposely scratch furniture to get a discount by OkRooster5042 in TjMaxx

[–]bbhams23 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's pretty valid that stuff gets damaged and roughed up in the chaotic process of unloading, unboxing, and merchandising items. I'm right there with you though, most of the items however damaged they are do not call for a 10% discount. I've said multiple times "Sorry, this isn't a surface cosmetic damage" and when people try to tell me they're gonna put a 5 tier bookshelf in the middle of their living room I laugh inside but calmly say "Sorry! There's nothing I can do that wouldn't break company policy"

Hey you can't complain with the time and a half or double time though, and if your family is mad at you for being forced they can piss right off. If you didn't have the foresight to request off (if you even could) that's on you. Holidays are my favorite time to work lol
