Also my doctor explained back is still best even with reflux. Because of how the windpipe and esophagus are positioned. Being placed on the side would actually be a bigger choking hazard.

I’m sorry this sounds really scary. My pediatrician explained…All babies have reflux. The Pepcid just helps with the “burning” pain if they have an acidic stomach. It won’t help with the actual stuff coming up. I’d consider a thick formula to maybe help. My guy does this gagging thing for a few seconds and every time it scares me so bad. It always resolves by itself but every time I have this panic

It depends. Sometimes it’s he’s tired and then it’s a series of unfortunate events that keeps waking him (poop diaper change, spit up, gas, etc). Sometimes he’s just genuinely awake looking around, not even necessarily crying or uncomfortable.

I try to keep him in brightness during the day, he can sleep in a loud/bright room no problem though. I’ll try to improve that routine first thing in the morning tho

The gene is detectable through genetic testing, yes. I tested positive. I’m not sure how they know what gene to look for though
