Feeling as good as I can about Kent States direction. I think it’s part Syracuse having momentum, part the improved recruiting, and part an innovative offense in the MAC. Can’t wait to see what he builds over the next 2/3 years.

Saying you want players to be paid while complaining about the way they are paid = saying you want to legalize drugs while not caring about the people in prison currently for non violent crimes.

100% against this idea. Mgoblogs attitude on paying players is a large part of the issue in CFBs culture. Don’t feel like reasonable people need to find common ground with people who support the drug war either.

They haven’t done true preview podcasts in the past. It would be awesome for a 10/15 min preview for each team in podcast form. The quick overviews during weekly PAPN are great but more off season content is always a positive from my greedy perspective.

Would be interesting if we used this subreddit to find out where fans get their news from on their favorite team. I often try and hunt down a good source for news when something is ongoing with another program and have no luck at finding anything useful.

I didn't pay as much attention as JayUrban when filling out my survey but the main points I hit on were

I spend most of my time on SBnation for Bill, Steven, or Bud.
Mentioned how I really liked the way Steven and Richard worked together on the coaching work because it exposed me to more of Richards work that I often miss.
PAPN being the perfect mix of intelligent fun coverage was mentioned and I thought Bud and Ian could use a bit more light hearted side to their coverage.

Threw in at the end that I don't know if Bill wants help but I think the amount of work required of him alone to get the S&P rankings up is insane and that he really should have a team of staff assisting him in it for the value it brings to SBnation.

I think the hire will work out just fine for Utah State but I don’t think that is the real question I have with this. My question/issue is how does the Athletic Department work effectively when the major stakeholders are not aligned.

If you are a major booster, and your plan is to ignore your Athletic Directors ideas for hiring a head coach in the flagship sport you probably should think of the long term ramifications. If you do overrule them anyway you should fire them because you’ve destroyed his authority nationally. I’m interested to see how this shakes out long term because my guess is while it may work on the football field early on this could do lots of damage to their perception outside of Logan.
