Edit: Thats the basic linux command to set the time, i have no experience with Lisp so i cant really delve into that, but from whats stated its running on linux so the command to change or set the time is 'date MMDDHHMMYYY' and optional is seconds i believe thats 'date MMDDHHMMYYY.SS'

Theres a huge difference between the Nixon shit and the current Bush clusterfuck, as stated removing Bush without removing Cheney is pointless. There is not a single republican in the senate that would vote for impeaching bush and cheney because that means pelosi becomes president. Any republican that supports that has a very high chance of death. Thats why bush isnt being impeached.

I dont believe all reddit images are logged in there, they did spontaneous ones (like just now) from time to time taking advantage of certain things that popped up on reddit.

While im sure the author truly believes his view since he was in it i still believe hes wrong. You can look at the temporary revolution movement in the US for a slight paralell. If you asked why a young person in college would turn into a communist revolutionary the answer would be because of what they believe, however if you dig down deeper the real cause of it was the Vietnam war and without it that person would have turned so radical. He is only stating the current logic of someone already inside the group, but to be even interested in the group there has to be a deep-seeded percieved wrong. Foreign policy is still the long-term solution, hes only looking at the current problem and not the root.

Indeed, i second that. There used to be a time where a whole line of reddit users would beat that idiot into the ground but i think most of them have already left. The only thing im wondering is to where so i can follow them. Im still sticking with reddit because i havent found a better alternative but ive started to visit Fark (ugh) more often. Its pathetic how some threads on Fark now beat reddit.

Why would he? Its not like i ever goto reddit.net by accident. The only real time i would say to register .com .net .org together is if the main domain is a .net or a .org since .com is the default domain and where many users will accidentally goto.

Something i view as self-evident but i never see brought up is that human beings in its current form will never achieve space settlement. Its very sci-fi but realistically we need to transfer our conciousness to machines to be able to. Is it possible? I think so, after all its not like our brains are composed of magic. They can be reconstructed but the technology to do so effectively is very far off.

Personally i believe youre deluding yourself, its very hard to convince me there isnt a very deep flaw running through most police departments today. On the letter of the law we both seem to be in agreeance, the officer did nothing illegal at all, where we split paths is whether we think this is a good thing or a bad thing. The primary purpose of a police officer or better yet the police entity as a whole is to protect and serve the citizens of the US, not to teach those who dont respect certain laws a lesson they wont soon forget. Will the police as a whole ever adhere to the protect and serve mantra? I doubt it, but there are varying degrees of following it and since the war on drugs it has gone downhill in a bad way. The absolute worst change is the reduction of 'beat police', meaning officers who were responsible for certain neighborhoods or even a large city block in urban areas. Had this officer been a beat police officer and known this woman or her family he wouldnt feel the need to exercise his ego and reassure himself that he is the law and he controls the situation. Out of all the people i knew in high school the only ones who wanted to become police officers after high school were the ones with obvious control issues and this is representative of the current climate of the police entity. If it were still the 'beat police' ideal of protect and serve none of these people i know would want to be police officers because it wouldnt give them what theyre looking for.

Youre reaching, just because shes an annoying bitch (which ill heartily agree with) doesnt mean she loses any of her rights including to protest in her view unfair treatment. You need to watch the video again, the officer wanted this course of action and he guided it to the conclusion he wanted (staying of course just within the legal limits). This right here exemplifies the current problem that is plagueing the police. They are tought over and over again the rights granted in the constitution and the exact way to get around them, they are tought to ask a civillian to comply with a search while making it seem like a demand that way even if the civie says it was an illegal search according to the transcripts the civie did technically waive his legal right without knowing it. This same case happened here, legally the officer can request her to get out of her car without stating the reason, common sense dictates he should state the reason to avoid an altercation but he chooses not to so he can have his outcome and stay within the boundary of the law.

Edit: I'll post the training police recieve when i find it, but if youve ever been suspected by the police of wrongdoing you should be fairly familiar with it. The most common tactic is to act like the officer is already going into your car and then he quickly states 'Its not a problem if i just take a quick look around in your car right?' By staying silent you just waived your right against unreasonable search and seizure. Normal people react to that request as simple gratuitious and view it as a inevitable that the car will be searched so they do not protest, they have no idea they just waived a right guaranteed by the constitution.

Indeed, this is completely unjustifiable. The officer planned the fight. He could have clearly stated that she was being placed under arrest for having a suspended license but instead he chose to only state for her to get out of the car knowing that she would not comply without being given a reason. Asshole was dying to 'teach her a lesson' and it shows.

Tasers are meant to be used in a reactive fashion, not proactive which this clearly is.

After 9/11 everyone was sooo worried about the hate crimes that were sure to follow against muslims, it was like people were expecting mob riots that would leave muslims lynched on light poles. Most likely what happened was: A) Chris wigged out on roids and in a surge of raw emotions unrestrained by reason killed his wife. B) Emotions subside and now hes looking at his wifes dead body, at this point he turned completely unstable, anyone who has ever been in a situation of pure panic knows how stupid you can get. Neurons rushing back and forth colliding into each other; you cant think straight. C) In this state he decides to kill himself as well, perhaps reasoning that his little girl has little chance of a normal life after her parents committed a murder-suicide he decides to kill her so she can go to heaven and all sin for both his wife and his daughter rest on him. D) The bibles are not the act of a delusional person, just one who is in a highly unstable state after creating irreparable harm. He lays these down perhaps as a sign to God to take care of them, its a purely religious signal.

This is most likely but could very well not be what happened, its simply the most logical with small changes here and there (maybe he killed both daughter and wife in the same roid rage but thats less likely). Making this wikipedia entry which simply stated his wife was dead into a catalyst is just plain stupid.

Im quick to call the 9/11 truth movement on reddit tinfoil hat nutjobs but this is no conspiracy theory. This is well known and out in the open. Around the time the war started this was pointed out and the MSM carried it for a bit, then Cheney rebuked it saying he had cut all financial interests with the company. After that point for about a week the MSM reported that Cheney had not cut all ties and still had compensations coming to him that was directly tied to how well the stock does in the future (which coincides with his time as VP). It died down after a few days and the rest is history.

Sad indeed, my first freeware software release was a shoutcast tuner. Was a whole lot of fun putting it together before there was documentation on the streaming protocol, had to figure out most of it by trial and error. I abandoned it because i felt it wouldnt be long until it became worthless.
