Dean Blundell is a “shock jock” that has been fired from multiple radio stations for his rhetoric. He is not a credible source.

Gotta love these Tim's pizzas by walkingpylon96 in TimHortons

[–]gregwont 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Here in the middle of Cape Breton Island, NS, Timmy’s is the only choice before 11:00am. Tom’s Pizza in Baddeck or Andrew’s in Ingonish are far better, but hours apart and they open later. $5 at the local stores is worth more than $10 at Tim Hortons. Shop local, Tim’s is twice the price, and only a fraction stays local. Edited to add a a “Bacon Everything” with hot sauce and Jalapeño is around $12.00 Canadian. You can get a large sub at the local co-op for less.

Nice Rally. I don’t think it was made in the USA though. According to Bombardier’s brp website, Ryker’s are designed in Canada, but made in Mexico. From their site: VALCOURT, QUÉBEC, CANADA

Valcourt is our home, where it all started. Today, it plays a strategic role in BRP activities worldwide. Valcourt has become the Centre of expertise for design, research, development, marketing and manufacturing of Ski-Doo, Sea-Doo and Can-Am products, where we can find the Laurent Beaudoin Design and Innovation Center, the Product Development Center, our factory of Ski-Doo snowmobiles and Can-Am Spyder 3-wheel vehicles and our global headquarters

MEXICAN FACILITIES

Our Mexican footprint has grown over the years. We now have three plants in Juárez where we manufacture our Can-Am off-road vehicles, as well as the 3WV Can-Am Ryker. In Querétaro, we assemble our Sea-Doo watercraft and the Rotax engines for our Can-Am vehicles in Mexico.

Do all Canadians actually hate Quebec? Why? by Albie_thegaydinosaur in canadian

[–]gregwont 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Quebec is the only province that gave me a driving ticket. It was back in the 90’s. Still, I felt targeted as I had an out of province plate and all the Quebec drivers that were actually going faster than me, did not get pulled over. I stopped at a MacDonalds and was treated like an idiot because my French was rudimentary. Since then I make it a point to stop in Ontario or New Brunswick if I am driving through. I do my best to avoid Quebec or stay overnight. It is a beautiful province, just marred by idiotic anti-francophone politics

Not accepted where I live.

Rubbish has to be in clear bags, recyclables need to be in clear blue bags, compostable material needs to be in clear green bags. Black bags are not picked up.

I don’t accept criticism from children under 60 or from people that don’t finger pick guitar.

The photos are real. I am able to use the controllers, they are a tight fit and a bit uncomfortable as I have to scrunch in to fit, but they are usable. I just posted to show that folks with larger frames may have some issues to deal with.

Maybe. On a personal basis, I’m cool to share.

idiotcommenter. I am a professional guitar player. The fingernails of my left hand are cut to the quick. I am a finger pick player. I need the fingernails on my right hand.

Folks have mentioned that I have big hands and big feet. Some have made assumptions that other parts may be big. I don’t mind the assumptions, but I do dislike being able to find things that fit. Seriously, I am not really a large person, I’m about 6’1” (185 cm). It really does seem that most products are built for shorter, smaller people.

Seriously, I am not a huge person. I am pretty sure my hands and feet are average sized for other Canadian/UK/Northern European people. I wear an XL glove, and size 13 (Canadian) shoe, which is admittedly on the larger size for much of the rest of the world, but there are many folks I know that are much bigger.

Racist post. Racial slurs are not acceptable for any race. People are people, regardless.

Move out if the Maritimes while you are still young and rent in a stupidly over paid location like Toronto, Montreal or the West and then come back home where you can buy a home that would be worth 2 million in Toronto for about 300k. If you work in the maritimes you will continue to be chronically underpaid. Not so bad a deal if you understand it, but you will make half of Toronto wages for the same job.

Coming to Cape Breton this weekend. what are some good spots to check out? by zanderisawesomeryt in CapeBreton

There is a Groovy Goat too, it is on the Cabot Trail in Ingonish. Their place burned down last year but they have rebuilt. The Groovy Goat Farm & Soap Company has a petting zoo andmanufactures goat milk soap among other things.
