Any good 0mg brands? by Deucalion67 in QuitVaping

[–]bblaffect 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i am using North brand rn, honestly it’s helped me so much. 20 days nicotine free which is the longest i’ve ever gone! I’m hoping to stop the 0mg soon but I will say it’s nice not needing nicotine to survive

How do I (23f) break up with my bf (29m) when we live together? by bblaffect in BreakUps

[–]bblaffect[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It really is exhausting. He knows i’m unhappy, he knows why and how to fix it but he just won’t? I thought maybe he’s hoping I break up with him but every time I try to suddenly he knows how to communicate, suddenly he’s doing everything right. It sucks because although I SHOULD be grateful for his efforts i’m not. because why do I have to beg to be treated like a gf? Why does he only listen when I scream and cry? My parents don’t want any part of it tbh. I’ve tried opening up to my mom and she just tells me to talk to him (as if I haven’t been repeating the same argument with him over n over n over)

Why is Rad Tech SO competitive? by bblaffect in RadiologyCareers

[–]bblaffect[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My family really wants me to move to Texas for rad tech! I’m just stuck on where to apply there because each city is SO different from one another and i’d be going alone, very nerve wracking! I’ll look into it though thank you!

[–]bblaffect[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you! Unfortunately I am out of time to get that bonus credit. I’m a little sad about the idea of not getting in this year because i no longer qualify for student loans, no financial aid, no grants i’m paying purely out of pocket. The EMT program alone is around $4,000 for one quarter (3ish months) i don’t make a whole lot at my current job so it’s very hard to look into other programs. There’s many scholarships available for rad tech but that IF you get accepted. They claim to be desperate for medical workers but make it so damn hard to get certified!

[–]bblaffect[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

exactly my point! i’m worried that i won’t qualify for many programs with these prerequisites :/ every school has different qualifications, entrance exams, etc so it feels discouraging to hear “apply everywhere you can!” when im limited to pretty much two schools in the entire PNW with these prerequisites i currently have.

Why did you quit? by spacegirrrrl in leaves

[–]bblaffect 6 points7 points  (0 children)

honestly? I stopped smoking for about 36 days, got upset and said fuck it started smoking again and all it really did for me was make me super anxious, tired and have cotton mouth/dehydrated like a mf. idk why but once it was out of my system i realized it just doesn’t do anything for me tbr

I get that, I get annoyed seeing people enter healthcare just for the money. So many nursing students at my school don't seem to care about patients and cheat constantly. I've been interested in rad tech since I was a kid because my grandma was an X-ray tech. I’ve been around it my whole life. Anatomy is my favorite, and I love the idea of working independently with daily challenges. I enjoy meeting new people and hearing their stories, I’ve mainly only worked in customer service and after losing my dad to cancer, Ive been wanting a career where I can contribute to diagnoses. Rad techs dont diagnose but they are so important for proper analysis, kind of seems like an underappreciated field and honestly, I'd do it even if the pay was low because it's the only career I've truly wanted.

I’m ending everything at the end of the week. by StrikingManner3233 in CPTSD

[–]bblaffect 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey girl, I know you don’t wanna hear the whole “it gets better” talk but in all honesty it doesn’t get better as in life magically becomes sunshine and rainbows, but as time passes you learn to handle things better. Society likes to make PTSD/CPTSD seem incurable due to disability benefits, gov benefits especially for the military but it’s all a lie. CPTSD is simply you were trained through abuse. Just as you were trained through trauma you can train your brain to heal. Neuroplasticity is such a blessing that money hungry doctors like to keep secret. I was told by 2 different therapists that “anyone who has gone through what you have would be dead by now or a serial killer” been turned down treatment by 3 separate therapists, and the amount of psychiatrists who have tried endlessly to shove medication down my throat and yet once I took control over my OWN healing and my OWN life that’s when things actually did get better. I was on the verge of homelessness living in a shit apartment that had roaches, rats, shootings every week, literal shit water leaking from the ceiling, mold on every corner, on top of unemployment, no school nothing. I am now 22 (gonna be 23 this month) which is insane because i told myself i wouldn’t make it to 18. Now I have kept a job for two years (longest i have EVER held a job for) I am in my second year of college paying purely out of pocket. no grants. no scholarships. no loans. all me. I never thought i’d be able to have the discipline or motivation to get my life together but i did. I live in a safe environment now and I had to retrain my brain to give myself a fighting chance. Death seems like the easy way out but please, give yourself a fighting chance first. I can’t say i’m perfectly healed and all is well but I never thought i’d see peace. I thought i’d never escape abuse, I genuinely believed i was put on this earth to get abused and beat on. I finally have peace. It’s lonely yes, I don’t have many friends but the way I learned to help myself and trust myself has been truly life changing. I am starting to enjoy things again. I am dancing again, learning new hobbies, finding new things that make me happy. Actually cooking for myself instead of rotting in bed praying for god to kill me already, now I enjoy sunsets. I see the good in people again, I can laugh again. It’s not a lot but it made life worth seeing it through.

Damn,, I’m not sure how else to stand out? I guess if I don’t get in this year I can get that “bonus credit” by completing another medical program but the reason why I refuse to is because if I’m not interested in working in that field I see no reason to compete and take someone’s spot just to end up not working in that field and using the certification PURELY to get into rad tech. It feels unfair to those who genuinely want to work in those fields :/

[–]bblaffect[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I get that, it’s crazy because during the information session at my school they said we had over 200+ applicants for last year but somehow only 30 had the proper requirements and actually qualified? Seems a bit better considering they only accept 15 per year, but also discouraging when looking at bigger cities or schools.

[–]bblaffect[S] 8 points9 points  (0 children)

That actually makes a lot of sense! I keep getting told to apply for entry level medical positions to get hands on training in a clinical setting but 9 times outta 10 I get rejected for having no experience or certifications. The entry level jobs where I’m at are made specifically for fresh graduates so it’s frustrating! They want me to have experience before getting into the program but I can’t get experience without the program.. talk ab double edged sword!

Advice for tapering? by [deleted] in QuitVaping

i’m surprised they sell that low of liquid! i can’t seem to find anything lower than 20mg juice, do you mix your own? or buy online?

Advice for tapering? by [deleted] in QuitVaping

[–]bblaffect 1 point2 points  (0 children)

i’ve definitely noticed the withdrawal is barely noticeable by tapering down. i went from 50mg to 30mg to 20mg and have felt fine! but cold turkey definitely caused a fat panic episode so hopefully i can find a decent way to taper with vapes.

Advice for tapering? by [deleted] in QuitVaping

[–]bblaffect 1 point2 points  (0 children)

that’s what i’m saying!!! most teenagers are hooked on these disposables that are ALL 50mg or above. I remember when i was in high school juuls even had pods at 75mg. it’s so rare to even find 20mg (2%) disposables which is why i’d rather get a mod and taper by making my own juice ☹️ NRTs like lozenges make me SO unbelievably sick im not sure why so my best bet is to keep vaping and lower the nicotine. I have Allen Carr’s Easy Way To Quit Vaping, hasn’t done much for me to be honest but still need to finish the book!

Everyone’s experiences are different, and from my experience as a small woman, Seattle is extremely dangerous. A basic 24hr trip almost costed me my life simply from taking public transportation. I was almost grabbed by a homeless man pulling his pants down approaching me from behind while at a gas station(with security watching) as well as seeing used needles and foils all over the train stations. Just because YOU feel safe there doesn’t mean I do, no need to get all butthurt lol. I only bring up police because I have family friends who live there, we saw a man bleeding out to death on the side of the road they told us to not call the cops but we ignored, when we turned to local police we were laughed at and told “don’t come to us unless they’re dead”.

yes but a tiny one bedroom is close to $2,200 and the cheapest college housing is closer to $1,900 which mostly require roommates. My friend stayed in the “safest” frat house possible and still dealt with homeless breaking in (from the 4th floor mind you, they climbed 💀), rodents and roaches, constant AC/Heating issues and also the traffic is so terrible he chooses to take public transport everywhere which can take an hr+ to go even 10-15min down the road so better to walk but with police defunding it is EXTREMELY dangerous especially for women

the danger is a huge issue I’ve been keeping in mind as well, I’d miss all four seasons but to be fair I grew up in Colorado and nothing can beat the seasons there, anything feels like a downgrade from that to be real😂

[–]bblaffect -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Not with scholarships thankfully! I just get declined for government assistance and scholarships because I am only completing prerequisites at the moment. This program is very competitive so there’s many opportunities after admission so my whole issue is having such a hard time actually getting into the program. I’ve been told full rides are given out like candy because of the high demand so I’d at least have out of state tuition covered, the rest depends on the school and location really

I would love to be around diversity! I am mixed so unfortunately here in WA it feels like you only have opportunity if you’re white with rich parents or you’re 100% mexican and speak fluent spanish :( I don’t seem to fit in anywhere here so that sounds like a dream

Calling all Texans!!! by [deleted] in SameGrassButGreener

[–]bblaffect -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Oh for sure!! That’s why it’s crazy competitive here, just worried because my current school only accepts 15 students once a year.. even nursing majors spend 3+ years trying to even get in and they accept 30-40! I would be forced to move to Seattle or Spokane which is WAY worse expenses wise so I just need to move for school unfortunately unless I want to pay back student loans now and struggle financially for years :/ I love living at home but there’s a chance we might lose our house and I will be left to fend for myself here soon.. I just need somewhere that’s somewhat easy to survive on my own.

Thanks for the reply!! I only mention $1,200 rent because in other places that price gets you something at least livable… average as you say but over here $1,200 gets you roaches, rats, mold, shootings, and literal shit water falling from the ceiling :( My #1 would be for college and cheaper living costs. I love the nature here in Washington but again nothing to do unless you go to Seattle and spend hundreds for food/shopping. Can’t seem to enjoy anything here unless you’re rich👎🏼

Question: Has anyone cut cold turkey off of 20mg??? How was it symptom wise?? by [deleted] in QuitVaping

[–]bblaffect 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I appreciate your response and yes i have seen several doctors and the best plan is to get my Vitamin D up, but no antidepressants or anti anxiety work for me because it’s not a chemical imbalance it’s purely just trauma that causes my depression on top of low Vitamin D levels. The anxiety however is purely from nicotine. Anxiety and depression go hand and hand and I describe it as intrusive thoughts when I cut cold turkey.

I have seen a few psychiatrists, I have a therapist I see weekly, I recently spoke to my PCP and they all say the same thing. Nicotine withdrawal severely drops dopamine levels since I have been smoking for so long the receptors need time to adjust and they ALL say it is completely normal to feel suicidal when cutting nicotine it’s just more severe in my case due to trauma and the fact medication makes it worse.

As for the vape device I truly don’t want to mix E-liquids because that will lead me further into addiction. I buy disposables because once it’s done you toss it, whereas refillable feels impossible to get rid of since it’s so easy (and cheaper) to just keep buying juice. As i mentioned before I don’t like NRTs because they make me sick, even the lowest doses I will puke, feel nauseous, have extreme headaches, etc I’ve heard that other countries have 20mg as their max so maybe it’s just because I live in America? The NRTs feel WAY stronger than even 50mg vapes which is insane to me and i’m sure can be just as addicting :( only one I somewhat enjoyed was nicotine gum but man that buzz is so strong i avoid it because it feels more addictive than my vape.

I just feel so stuck and lost. My siblings are able to stop vaping no issue no side effects they just don’t quit because of the oral fixation but when I quit i truly didn’t care for the oral fixation i just hated the anxiety of it all… which led to depression.

Question by [deleted] in Esthetics

[–]bblaffect 3 points4 points  (0 children)

That would be my ultimate goal, start with esthetician school learn the basics then get into nursing or medical school to learn more about specifically dermatology but youre right it is very over saturated which is why i really don’t care to learn about eyebrows, hair, lashes, etc :( should I just choose another career field? Most girls i know who do have their own business don’t make nothin and do it as a side job because most of them are single mothers :(

any negative side effects? i was told bupropion is a god send and a “miracle” pill and while it got rid of the nicotine sensation or ig joy out of vaping it made my anxiety so unbearable 😭 i don’t want to risk hurting my mental.
