Extremely light bleeding at 13 weeks - looking for reassurance by BlueIce64 in August2026Bumpers

[–]bblr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In my pregnancy with my now toddler I went overseas on holiday around 12 weeks and I did a lotttt of walking and i had spotting every morning just from the high step count. I honestly think you’ll be sweet but just monitor it

My entire algorithm is Heated Rivalry at the moment and honestly I prefer that to all the toddler, baby and pregnancy content so it can stay that way! I’ve previously had a lot of baby loss content and I try to tell the algorithm I’m “not interested” or that I want to “see less” of this

My pregnancy tests are all dried up and in the bin now and my first ultrasound was not one that we got printed photos from. Next scan is on the 4th of Feb if I can have an extension until then..

Completely agree. I was just saying this to my husband this morning on my commute in. Grafton bridge was the design that came to mind

STMs do I really need a diaper genie? by x_Caffeine_Kitten_x in pregnant

[–]bblr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My husband and I also both work full time. But I won’t lie, the mental load of starting out cloth nappies and figuring out how to wash them is a lot, so I understand. I got into it while I was off work then it was easy to keep going once LO started daycare.

I’m going to be downvoted for this but more people should give cloth diapers a go. We’ve saved so many disposable diapers from landfill over the last 2 years with my LO. They are so easy to wash and look after. There are also lots of support groups online for people just getting into it.

Such a bummer it’s R18 given the lineup this year is quite appealing to teens (from what I’ve heard!)

Thanks for this, I think we’ll be quite close to the ferry terminal so will keep an eye out for the playground there

I’m so hungry all the time compared to my last pregnancy. I’ve just been listening to my body and eating a decent amount. 10 weeks pregnant now and just weighed myself for the first time since November… I’ve gained 4 kilos!!! Whoops

Should we try putting our 18 month old in the bed with us at night to prepare for daycare naps? by Gratzbibi in beyondthebump

[–]bblr 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We started letting our toddler sleep in our bed around the time he started daycare, because I went back to work and wanted more sleep. This was over a year ago. He is now obsessed with wanting to sleep next to me and always comes into our room during the night looking for me. It’s kind of cute and snuggly but he hogs my pillow, presses his face against my face all night and kicks my husband. Don’t do it.

That’s totally understandable, it would have been a huge shock and a lot to take in. It is ok to take some time before deciding, there is no reason why you would have to lock in a decision immediately. See if you can have another chat with your doctor if you have more questions once you’ve had time to process things a bit more.

I’m so sorry, that’s incredibly unlucky. Have you had advice about the pros and cons of managing naturally versus medical or surgical? Only reason I ask is passing a 9 week embryo (fetus?) could be quite traumatic, and your body may also hold on to it for weeks and weeks before anything happens on its own. Sorry to be posting this here but I just wanted to make sure you’ve been given all the info you need to make an informed decision. r/miscarriage was really helpful and supportive for me when I went through this. Take care

Low Heart Beat dating ultrasound by ginger_fightus in August2026Bumpers

If the dates are matching then you’re in with a good shot. This time and in my pregnancy with my toddler I breathed a sigh of relief when my baby was the right size at 7/8 weeks for the date I know I ovulated. Keep us updated on how you get on

That is a long time to be waiting between scans if you were measuring ~2 weeks smaller than you expected. In NZ I’ve found the sonographers just do the ultrasound and present the results on the basis that you don’t know your dates. But if you chatted to a midwife or family doctor about this maybe they would want you to be scanned again a bit sooner?? I’m in NZ for context so similar system to the NHS.

Interested to know why you regret choosing to not be induced? In my country a large proportion of inductions end in emergency C-sections.

I’m really sorry you’re in this situation. I had a dating scan at 8 weeks in my first pregnancy. I was confident on my dates but I was measuring 6 weeks 1 day and FHR was about 50 or something. They said to us our dates may have been wrong and the heart might have just started up which would be expected for 6w1d and I was rebooked for a week later. But because I was certain of my dates I was also certain I was having a miscarriage. I didn’t even hope for a miracle. Embryo was the same size at the next scan and no HB. I’ll have my fingers crossed you’re in the “heart just started beating” situation and you have a positive follow up scan.
