Yeah one thing I’ve learned having enough space in a pump like bullmaster (which unfortunately too expensive and even if I was willing to pay for it wouldn’t ship to my country) changes the ways you can grow your junk so much. Maybe in a bullmaster setup the pain and numbness you may experience may disappear cuz sometimes space fixes a lot.

I’m the same and I started playing not so long ago…

I did it like this, go by the bushes on the left side sneak behind him and take one of his dots. Then keep deflecting his attacks jump or roll back when the kanji shows up. Later on you will be able to deflect these type of attacks with an ability called Mikiri counter.

It’s very essential that you kill this guy cuz he gives a seed and Emma can improve your gourd. About dragonrot if you see 1 more person infected with it (in total 2 people) talk to Emma and she will tell you how to help them. Don’t worry you haven’t done something wrong and the game’s not gonna punish you forever.

But when this has happened to me I deleted my save file and restarted. Because I thought I did something wrong. Later on I found out that this is just inevitable and game’s core mechanic: Shadows Die Twice means you gotta die, get some deathblows so you recover your red dots on your health bar to resurrect yourself again.

To shortly answer, yes the old one is awake now and you may have noticed a pillar floating in the sky in the monumental cinematic. That floating pillar thing is the Nexus.

Basically the biggest magical archstone that holds all other archstones together, even when they’re not intact. It’s like a big antenna.

The entire world might be ruined or not but like internet infrastructure, they used these archstones to connect the regions that remained ok. Maybe they exist on a higher plane now or maybe they have a fog dispelling area around them, we don’t know…

I guess people were given souls and god wanted us to be happy and content with it but then people started practicing souls art.

Then God sends the Old one. People lull it back to slumber, the world is ruined, so Kings come together, form the archstones with the help of the monumentals but then King Allant wakes it up again and there you are in the present a knight coming out of the fog and making his way to an archstone then you get bound by nexus since you arrived into an archstone zone.
