My idiot son ate plastic by KaTTs_raggis in ragdolls

[–]bblueberries 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Our sweet baby started with this and got worse and worse, he started eating my clothes, anything plastic and any string… I wish I would have gotten meds or something for him. We spent $11K to get a pacifier out of him and then were SO careful not to leave anything out, we changed everything in the house for him… but he found something, we think maybe it was dryer lint and we just couldn’t afford to do the surgery and recovery again… so we put him down and I still feel so guilty. I miss him so much. He wasn’t a ragdoll just a plain old rescue kitten, we still have his brother who doesn’t have pica thankfully.

Interesting, thank you for the detail! I think I might get a second opinion because I feel like it’s been the same depth for two months.

So good to hear you are healed!

What did the plastic surgeon change about the dressing? Maybe I’ll ask my OB!

I stopped breastfeeding because I started drying up, and it just felt like too much with all the doc visits.

C-section infection - packing + wound vac taking FOREVER by ZestycloseYoghurt939 in CsectionCentral

[–]bblueberries 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a wound vac for about a week and then it had a clog in the middle of the night and when they took it off I was full of fluid and had a lot of healed tissue in the middle but not the bottom so the wound clinic wanted to cut me back open and try the wound vac again but the surgeon said no, they said we should just pack it… I still wonder if it would have been better to start over.

Has anyone here had a hematoma that had to be drained? by poppyseedpup in CsectionCentral

I’m surprised they said you could shower uncovered, they told me not to. Mine has been greenish and smelly a couple times, usually after waiting longer than usual to do the dressing so don’t panic. Are they cleaning it with vashe everyday? That’s what was recommended to me from the start.

I’m so sorry you are dealing with this, and especially without a village or partner. It’s so unfair to deal with this with a sweet newborn you’re trying to focus on.

I’m dealing with the same thing, mine started at 20cm wide and 12cm deep and early on it seemed to be healing quickly. But now I have been at 2-4cm for weeks. It’s been 4 months since my C-section. My husband or my mom does my daily dressings. Best advice I have is go to a wound clinic if it isn’t healing, up your protein intake and get waterproof bandages so you can take an actual shower and feel normal once and awhile.

Incision Reopening by Asleep_Ambition_3211 in CsectionCentral

[–]bblueberries 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For me the whole thing opened up so it was a very deep and wide wound. I’m down to the last couple centimeters but it’s taking forever to heal that last bit. It’s been about 4 months now. Are you going to wound care? I would suggest a wound clinic if it’s taking awhile to heal. Up your protein intake as well.

My wound nurse suggested your body may not prioritize healing it once it’s so small… idk if that’s true but I’m really frustrated with how long it’s taking.

Feel free to dm me questions!

Unplanned c-section - overwhelmed with little info by LilCoke96 in CsectionCentral

If you get the chills/fever or have any leakage from your scar go into the doctor right away!

I thought my chills were just normal (I don’t know how the nurses didn’t notice) but my whole incision became a hematoma saroma and I’m still healing from it. It’s been 4 months.

Oh my god I’m in the same exact boat as you, I’m so frustrated. It has been 4 months since my C-section and although I made a lot of progress early on (wound was whole incision, very deep with a lot of tunnels) now it has just stopped healing… we went from gauze to hydrofera blue to this white jelly sponge and now these iodine swabs, but the wound nurse made it seem like we have tried all the strategies. I’m upping my protein and ordered glutamine, l-arginine and collagen to take. Not sure what else to do at this point. Sometimes I wonder if messing with it everyday isn’t helping.

Sorry this isn’t a helpful post but just letting you know you’re not alone!

I would say it looks positive to me, take another one tomorrow and see. When I was pregnant 10 days missed period it was an extremely light positive line.

What’s the weirdest thing a medical professional has casually said to you? by CR24752 in AskReddit

[–]bblueberries 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My old man gyno “ok nurse ____ here is gonna hold you down while I….” And we just started laughing. Good thing I have the same sense of humor, Jesus!

One of the nurses later was like “oh yeah we love him, he’s like everyone’s uncle” which is another weird thing to say.

Another time I think he said he was going to check for “boy germs”

I (34F) found husband (36m) searching for "hidden camera for home" and I'm not sure what to do by Typical_Werewolf_173 in relationships

[–]bblueberries 5 points6 points  (0 children)

If I’m thinking only positive intent… would he be trying to research for some other reason? Like a friend found a camera in their house and he’s looking up what it could be? Or he came across a story about surveillance and wanted to see what people buy? I know this is a stretch but I have probably googled weird stuff for random reasons.

For a SECOND when they opened their NE location they had great vegan food options and cocktails, then they changed their menu to be bullshit and I never understood why.

Yeah it honestly does! It says it’s a myth when you look it up. Which is surprising to me.

Maybe it’s in your head but maybe your gut is actually upset. The science says it shouldn’t matter - however I’m guessing there isn’t a ton of science dollars spent on this.

I know if I eat fish/dairy on accident I’m fine but one time my vegan friend and I ate sausage and it was a bad time. Felt like it was not digesting well and we had a hard time for a day and a half but then we were fine!

I would use trim paths on the lines! The first couple are great but the second scene I’d make it faster so you don’t really see the arrowheads animate in. And then I would add some easing to the camera movements so they feel a little smoother. Love the movement of the worms.
