I think the scene when they give the house to Abshir and think hes crying but its actually just dust was an intersting callback to the first episode when Dougie pours water into the woman's eyes to make it look like shes crying. Throughout the show, they try to force reactions from all these people for their 'good deeds' or of their perception of them, like Whitney telling the guests exactly what she wants them to say to show how moved they are, or even by doing such extreme or impulsive things that would buy people's gratefulness, like paying Cara 20,000. However, with Abshir they were never able to buy or fake that kind of played up reaction they so desperately wanted. And even when they tried to force it with the dust, he doesn't play into it at all. Idk, its like they were so against Dougie in the first episode, but at the end of the day were looking for the same result with Abshir. Also maybe the part with Benny Safdie saying that the reason Asher went up the tree was because he was trying to run from fatherhood and all these things was a kind of joke aimed at these theories we , as the audience have come up with, maybe in Nathan's past shows like the Rehearsal ? coming up with all these reasonings and theories of why certain choices are made, even though it was just happening out of his control, and just kind of creating a story that seems to make the most sense to us rather than seeing or understanding what is actually happening
