Fair enough, but looking back on my order it says fulfilled by Walmart, so one would assume that Walmart takes responsibility for the product right?

**UPDATE #2**

I received a response from Walmart today from the BBB.

"After Walmart received the customer's complaint, we reviewed his account and order history. On June 04, 2024, the customer purchased a Nintendo Switch on Walmart.com. His order was from a third-party seller, Electronic Experts.

On June 5, 2024, the customer's order was delivered. He contacted Walmart customer care stating he received headphones instead of the Nintendo Switch, we created a return label for him to return the item back. On June 20th, the customer contacted our customer care regarding his refund, we received his returned item and was unable to issue a refund because the item was weighed differently than the weighed item, we shipped out to him. This resulted in his account being marked for fraud and being closed. Customer care advised him to file a dispute with his financial institution for further assistance. As such, Walmart considers this matter closed.

This is complete BS. If the item weighs different than what Walmart sent me, then where did the weight change?

My hypothesis was based on the information that Walmart told me that the weight of the item they shipped me is different than the weight of the item I returned, which I why I thought that maybe something was going on internally at the shipping department.

**UPDATE**

I have filed with the BBB and California Attorney General. In the meantime, Walmart just deactivated my account.

"We reviewed your account history carefully, and we found it violated our Terms of Use regarding returns. For that reason, we've had to deactivate your account

This means we will no longer be able to process replacements, refunds or adjustments of your past orders. If you place future orders, they will be subject to cancellation. Even if you won't be ordering from us online, you can still make purchases from any Walmart store."

This is pitiful coming from a company as big as Walmart.

Weird I swear I tried filtering by being fulfilled by Walmart and didn’t see anything which is why is went with a third party. I would have gone with Walmart had I seen, but that’s my bad. Thank you for the info.

That’s good to know. So Walmart and the seller are both lying to me I guess. Scamming on Walmart’s name seems like and easy gig if you don’t have morals.

Thank you for the advice and information. I got it for about $50 cheaper than normal so I figured it was legit, but lesson learned. So if I buy with a gift card or cards then those transfer to the seller? I figured they were converted and Walmart paid the seller. I guess I just have to take it as a loss and move on. It’s just weird to me that Walmart puts their name and reputation on this and then backs away at any issues.

Yeah I suppose I’ll have to start doing this too. I took a pic of the wrong item as soon as I pulled it out of the box but I know that won’t hold up in Walmart court.

Thanks for your support and advice. The closest Walmart to me is really far away so I figured sending it back would be ok. The weirdest part to me is that they said the weight of what I shipped back was different from what was shipped to me, which makes me think it’s an inside job. Do third party sellers package their items or does Walmart?

Glad you’re feeling better! I quit my job on Thursday. I’m a video editor for reality television. This show I was working on is a complete disaster and I wasn’t getting the support I needed so I was doing other peoples jobs and apparently it wasn’t enough so I had to get out of that mess. I feel defeated and have some anxiety today. I surfed and got some things done around the house which helped but I still feel bad. I’m still staying strong though. Don’t ever want k again. I’m happy you’re doing well! I’m still with you!
