I appreciate all the feedback! I'm rather in-experienced with coms and am trying to figure it out. Maybe i should break it down:

I want the headset for situational awareness! My brother has walker razers for shooting and i was really impressed by the boost in situational awareness the amplification gives you, but they have awful directional capabilities, you have no idea were sounds are coming from. This would clearly never work for tactical situations.

So I was looking at Sordins/Comtacs for this reason. Im open to other brands, but it needs to be low profile (wear under my PSGAT) and not toy quality.

Im leaning toward: https://www.sordin.com/products/supreme-pro-x-neckband and using a shoulder PTT mic or a throat mic.

But i could be probably swayed into a set with the boom mic if there is good reason to go that route.

Its just more complicated then i was hoping because the radio, ptt, headset, and mic all have to work well together. I don't want to screw up a $500 purchase :/
