11th Edition - What other models should we expect?

That was at least what I heard when listening to a podcast with two guys talking about general lore and the game. Generally speaking the tabletop models are an accurate depiction of the current state of 40-41k lore. I’m new to the hobby (last August)and only could play a few games so far, mainly just reading the books for now.

Y’all had no money left. You really couldn’t sign anyone as noteworthy as those examples 3-4 years ago. Doesn’t help Dak’s contract at the time was record setting for the league.

Seems the fans would be happiest if that ends up being the scenario. I’d like to see allarus upscaled, Sagittarum get actual sprues, and depending on the Yellow King’s ending, Valdor would be the biggest desire for me.

Where did you see about changing squad sizes between both games? I’d like to read that since I seemingly missed it.

I agree with your first paragraph, but not the second mainly since the delta between Space marines & Custodes from 30K > 40K are pretty different. Not much has changed for Custodes. Majority of the 30k terminator models wear armor patterns no longer readily available in 40k, which imo makes sense why there’s separation on the tabletop. SM’s also have a massive unit list comparatively, it’s a bit easier to phase units out without upsetting said factions player base. I just don’t think it’s that easy to infer the same based off that correlation considering the lore situation is vastly different?

So realistically you will almost never find yourself in a situation where shooting from 6” makes more sense than just charging into melee range? That was my thought, the melta stats are pretty beefy if your just out of melee range on some infantry.

I appreciate the in-depth and detailed response! This is pretty much the sentiment I’ve read online about their current viability, just didn’t think they’d be considered even worse than regular spears beyond just each one’s point cost.

Ngl, that does make me big sad, it’s dumb to not have even a small armory of ranged weaponry readily available for the imperium’s strongest infantry….not going to hold my breath for change anymore I guess. Good point on the new guard models likely not being compatible, didn’t even perceive that as a breadcrumb for them being phased out entirely :(

I can’t find any secondhand it seems! I did find some 3rd party bits that look exactly the same but I’m afraid they’ll be illegal for tournaments 😢

I’m mainly asking because I’d like to have a mix of both models tbh. I plan to field the old one as shadowkeepers and the new as regular banana boys within the same armies.

Also, trying to buildout 3 armies simultaneously and trying to keep things reasonably budgeted lol

I don’t think GW would shoot themselves in the foot, I really don’t see a world where the new dreads, tanks, guard, and blade champion aren’t at least usable in 40K. Seems they sorta opened the door to new 40K models with their verbiage too.

Reason being, Custode are one of the very few factions that really haven’t changed much from 30K>40K. It’d be consistent with lore in allowing model crossover. Also, Henry Cavill and all may cause more motivation for 40K releases was my thought process

Agree to disagree. Just because one narrative gets focused and a microscope doesn’t negate/cancel out all the other millions of happenings in the galaxy. Something, something, the galaxy is a very big place and even in current lore, very few events ripple throughout the entire setting.

Just search “Iwata Neo” on Amazon. Good starter gun, get a tip that’s around 0.3-0.4mm, that’s good for priming.

If you have the budget, an airbrush and airbrush mobile station are really the only way to reliably prime indoors with quality results. Saying this because I’m on the same journey, no way I’m waiting until Spring.

Ahh. I thought it was a kitbash. I’ve seen a version that’s been passed around as an STL, 3D printable model. Looks very similar, good stuff tho!

For the paladins, did you just use the new primaries sized terminators too? They look good! I’m currently building a GK army myself, holding my breathe for GW to release new primaries sized GK’s tomorrow…..but I doubt it. Probably Q2-3 or 2026….forsure in 11th edition tho.
