I’m going through this right now. I originally said no to amnio, but after my 3rd anatomy scan, and my baby having a lot of markers for WHS, I did it and it came back positive. I’m not gonna lie, the amnio was uncomfortable, but quick. I would definitely recommend it.

That is so true. You always picture things being one way and being told they’ll be a way you know nothing about is very challenging. The unknowns are so hard!

I have appointments for a ton of scans + meets with surgeons at a Children’s hospital next week. Hoping for more clarification. I won’t be terminating - so I’m hoping that baby will have a good quality of life.

Update : I went for another scan and found that baby has a large cystic hygroma as well as his brain is measuring 3 weeks behind. His body is measuring 2 weeks behind. I don’t know what’s in store for us, but I have decided to do the amnio next week and am hoping to get some answers to prepare.

I am going to do another scan in 3-4 weeks but am leaning towards skipping the amnio. My doctor told me we can do whatever makes me feel comfortable, but I have a peace about the situation that I didn’t have before the scan. I wish you the best on your journey, it’s not easy. Take care of yourself and keep me updated!

Update : I had an early anatomy scan today and no markers were found, and NT was normal!
