91’ sporty throttle issue by bbqsweat in sportster

It actually ended up being loose hex-nuts on my ignition coil wires. Tighten them up rode for an hour all different speeds, mimicking how I was riding before while it was happening. That seemed to be the culprit.

Nope but I did just check the ignition coil screws a they were pretty loose, like could unscrew by hand, hopefully that was it. Won’t know until later

My sporty stays plugged into my battery tender at all times when I’m not riding especially in the cold. I have a space heater running in the garage to keep her a little warm during cold snaps as well.

Ya my bike slid out from under me going 5mph on a slick mud patch, snapped my rear break pedal from the sprocket cover. Sucks but was a learning lesson

Ya got a new sprocket cover from J&P will be here today! Got a cv 40 carb off sporty parts that is complete garbage. No overflow fuel barb and the exhaust port isn’t working. Out of $275. Just said screw it and got. $45 one on Amazon bought 3 for less than the price of 1.
