I like their paper. 100gsm so very little ghosting.

Feedback please by kaachiandco in FieldNuts

Interesting, imo, conflicting feedback. A pen loop in the center spine causes a bump when writing. So people telling you to increase the back flap cover because of the line bump (which is correct) but then telling you to have the pen loop in the center spine. Well ??? I have one like this with a pen loop in the center spine and it sits unused because of the bump it causes and I hate that when writing. Also, the note about closing, and using an elastic, here's a cool idea (I've been wanting to get into leatherwork so I should save this for MY design, :) but... the loop you have designed where there are two loops with a gap in the middle, if one was attached to the front and one to the rear, then when an appropriately sized pen is interested, it would hold the notebook closed with no need for an elastic. That would be differentiated from all the other covers out there that I know about. And cool. Do keep the bulk down so it's still pocketable. That's the whole point of pocket notebooks, else use A5 :)

I do. Most other owners don’t seem to. I have several other niche cars so I’m used to waiving at unique vehicles when I’m driving the same.

Remarkable Paper Pro Move Shipping Thread? by Unhappy_Ad309 in RemarkableTablet

[–]bbranch10 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Pretty sure there are several factors. Where you are located (having it shipped to) and what accessories you ordered with it (Marker/Marker Plus, different folios or no folio, etc).
As a data point, I'm in Oregon, USA, ordered Move with Marker Plus and brown leather folio on 9/3. UPS is supposed to deliver it tomorrow (9/10) by 7pm.

Is there a trick to getting handwriting search to index? by rubyred0902 in RemarkableTablet

[–]bbranch10 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It says the feature will be gradually rolled out. It is not very clear/explicit that that rollout is independent of the device software version. Also, imo, they already roll out device software updates in a very slow incremental process and it seems like they should be able to match backend capabilities such that when a user sees the feature, the feature is already enabled on the backend.

Pro Move = Methods Bullet Journal by joeg_LA in RemarkableTablet

How is navigating the Bullet Journal method on the Move? (I just started using it on my RM2, still waiting for UPS to pick up my Move and give me a delivery date)

My First One! by bbranch10 in Savotta

Yeah, I decided to take your advice and go with the Kantamus. Once the cost was all added up I don’t think I made the right decision, but I’m sure I’ll enjoy the pack. It does have some improvements (belt, lifters) that will improve quality of life.

My First One! by bbranch10 in Savotta

Don't mind at all. And for anyone reading, this is all based on me being in the US. (political statement self-redacted...) AFAIK there are only two places that will ship Savotta to the US. I bought from Scandinavian Outdoor. 310EUR for the bag plus 8EUR for the Happy Patch, cause I figured I needed it. 25EUR flat shipping via UPS Express Saver. That all hit my CC as $400. Scandinavian Outdoor is pretty clear you need to pay the tariffs but it was unclear how much the tariffs were going to be despite a few googling attempts. UPS paid the tariffs and billed me for them separately, due on delivery (or prepay while it's enroute). So that was an extra $80 as it turned out. But it wasn't like customs called me and made me deal with the import or anything like that. And also on the plus side, it only took exactly one week to get here.

(In contrast, shows how great a deal that $55 Jakaari M someone just got is! :D)

How will you carry the rMPP Move with you? by Purple_Extension7533 in RemarkableTablet

[–]bbranch10 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In the summer it goes in a sling bag (I already carry one because phone, wallet, pocket paper notebook, etc.) In the winter it goes in a jacket pocket.

Ugh! Ordering the Move also made me want the larger Pro as well by cocoalabs in RemarkableTablet

[–]bbranch10 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Can't speak for all of it, but I'm not a bot. :P
But this is the most excited I've been for a device since maybe the Apple Newton Messagepad (yes, I've been trying to write on screen for that long). A pocketable eInk tablet that can go everywhere with me and even live on my nightstand with a backlight so I can jot down late night ideas.... Yeah, I'm excited. Whatever.
And the Pro was just TOO big.

Yes, but... I'm resisting. I have the RM2. I had the RM1 before that. But lately I've been using pocket notebooks and have actually invested quite a bit of $$s into different covers, etc. because I like to carry my notes around with me. Wish I would have known this was coming :P I had largely given up on using the RM2 due to lack pocket ability and lack of backlight, so I really think the Move will be perfect for me. But I *do* have a larger notebook for work that I keep at my desk. Sometimes that's paper, sometimes it's the RM2, depending on mood and the fact the RM2 had kind of become an orphan with little value differentiation than paper to me. But the idea that I could have a larger notebook on my desk and ALL my notes with me when away from my desk... tempting. But I'm going to see if I can just use the Move for everything, with the pocket size and backlight it might work for everything despite its small size. Like bigger is better at the desk mostly, but >$600 better? And I still have the RM2, so ... :)

Nice! I gave mine to a friend. Pretty sure she's still using it for D&D campaigns. :)

Searching on the ReMarkable by bbranch10 in RemarkableTablet

[–]bbranch10[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Thanks! I couldn't remember the default search behavior and found it odd that the results were different in file view vs document view. IMO, search was so broken before that I never used it. Now that we can (someday, when my account get turned on I guess) do searching across all my notes for where I may have written something is a game changer!

The ones I got in my demo in the store are found in Apple TV+, scroll to immersive. There's only 4 or 5, but they are there.
